Mums with "bigger" babies

Where are you buying your LO's clothes? My LO is 20lbs and 27 inches long, not a petite girl by anyone's definition. I am currently using  a lot of hand me downs from DD#1 but they are not fitting well. I have even gotten out 12 month stuff but you can only cuff jeans so much before they look ridiculous. I am unpacking clothes only to have to repack them a week later having never been worn. I just can't keep up.

  • Try eBay. In your case, since she's growing so fast I'd buy some cute used clothes. As for brands, I have no idea! Btw, Ralph Lauren runs small. Just thought I'd throw that info out there!

  • In my area there are Facebook groups for buying/selling children's stuff (including clothing). It's like a very localized and specific craigslist. Do you have something like that you could try?

  • I have 12-18 month clothes out, unfortunately dresses are not often an option because it is so cold here. I have so many clothes that her sister wore but they just don't fit LO right.

  • Mine is on the bigger side (I think 87th percentile). He is around 15 lbs., although he is a little short (30th percentile for height). He wears a lot of Carters clothes.

  • A trick I used for my girls was buying Capri leggings. At first they would be full length and eventually worn as capris. No having to roll them and double the wear time ;)

  • So far leggings are a bit of a bust because any bigger than 12 mo they are too long (like ridiculous) but anything up to 12 mo it leaves a seam impression on her legs (so I tend to think they are too tight). I will take a look at the sweater tights though.

  • Uh ok. Chubby legs are the main issue.

  • Yeah we're 20.5lbs I'm finding top wise he fits some 3-6mths ok but pants more like 9mths and onsies are hit and miss. Some things like the pjs he wore last night were 1yr old. I'm getting most stuff now from the baby markets, 50c buys. Definitely the elastic waste pants are best, anything fancy with a button is way too tight too quickly.
