Tornado just damaged houses on our street... Like 6 houses away the damage starts. Out in Cali we don't have basements so I was huddled in our pantry with both kids flipping out because it was so loud... At least if we got stuck in there we could eat

This is CA not the Midwest, what is up with the tornados - 2 in the last month...
But in all seriousness - I don't want to go through that again. Luckily no one was hurt in any of the houses! Now the news teams and helicopters are everywhere and being loud...

January PAL Siggy Challenge: Good Advice
This here is so true. In '08 our city flooded and our house happened to be in the worst hit part. The night it happened there was a tornado 2 miles west of town and 3 feet of water in our basement and the river that's usually a block away was brushing against our next door neighbors house. Scariest night of my life. So, I'd take pantry any day. Plus there is food.
