1st Trimester

Cramps.

I got my BFP yesterday, but I have been cramping for the past few days. I am worried because I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in January and I was cramping then for days before the bleeding started.

So my question, has anyone had a successful pregnancy that had cramping at 4-5 weeks?

Re: Cramps.

  • Cramping can be normal. I cramped with my first , your uterus is stretching and making room. Drink a lot of water and that helps.

  • Cramps are totally normal. With my first they felt like dull, constant, achy AF like cramps for the first few weeks. This time they feel like sharp pricks, which makes me worry because of past losses, but they only last a second and are better if I drink a lot of water. Unless you're doubled over in pain, it's probably fine.

  • I usually cramp slightly when I have to pee. I am 5w3d and the cramped intensely 6dpmp.
  • I can definitely relate as well.  I've had cramping off and on since after O.  It makes me nervous due to a recent miscarriage a few months ago.  Everything I've read says that as long as they are not excrutiatingly painful or occur with bleeding, you are likely just fine.  Good Luck!

  • 28 weeks here and still get crampy. Everything is stretching and changing down there. Rest, tons of water and stretching can help to ease things. If it is really terrible, like you don't think tylenol would help, or there is bleeding then call your doctor or go to a clinic to get things checked out.

  • I'm in the same boat as all of you.  Just got my BFP yesterday after thinking AF was running late.  The cramping is what threw me for a loop, making me thing AF was on her way.  I've read it's completely normal as long as it's not excruciating or you're bleeding heavily.
