I offered last night to be in charge of the FF check in weekly and since any day of the week worked for me, I figured might as well start today SO Thursdays will be our "day".

A little background on me.

We are 90% FF here in our house and the rest BF. It will soon be 100% FF because my supply is drying up (Long story but I am still pumping a few times a day at this point, I can't decide to give it up OR not 100%) I 100% FF my first two LO's

SO I want this to be a place of support and I don't know how to "do" this, I am about to try my best. If you have any suggestions on what we should talk about POST em.

I think we should all get to know each other first so I will post a couple questions about FF your LO.

1)What kind are you using? Target Up and Up version of Similac Advance.

2)What schedule are you on and how many ounces? We feed him every three hours or so during the day. I offer him 6 ounces, although he doesn't usually finish it all.

3)Do you use only 1 brand of bottle or do you mix it up? We use the Tommee Tippee.

4)Lets talk poop! How is your LO's? Fine. He goes about twice a day.

5)Gas, does your LO have it and if so how bad is it? He doesn't have much gas.

1)What kind are you using? Gerber Good Start Soothe and about to switch to Similac Alimentum because my first two were on it and we had NO issues and as much as I love GGSS something still is not right in LO's tummy

2)What schedule are you on and how many ounces? 4 ounces and NO more than that at a time or she pukes. We tried slowly going to 4.5 and a few times I have made a 4 ounce bottle and added 1 ounce of BM to make a 5 ounce and that was a bad idea. Even on the rare occasions she has slept 6-8 hours she will still puke. Schedule wise we eat every 3.5-4 hours like clockwork. Twice she graced me with a long stretch. She is 14 weeks and 2 days old now. I fear I will never sleep thru the night again. (I know I will eventually but it seems like never at this point)

3)Do you use only 1 brand of bottle or do you mix it up? We mix it up, her two favorite ones are the MAM bottles and for some reason she really likes those 97cent bottles from Wal-Mart. The MAM ones I love, the nipples are so soft and she gets WAY less gas when we use those compared to any other bottle. We also have a spare brand one here and there that I have bought to try and for one reason or another didn't like. My least favorite one we have tried was the Similac bottle and I found that sad because I was really excited during pregnancy for those bottles to work out, I am glad that I only ever bought one though because I despise that bottle.

4)Lets talk poop! How is your LO's? It varies, Some days she goes 2x a day and other times she goes 1x a day and then she won't go for 2-3 days at all. She has no schedule to her poops, Odd for me only because my last two were like clockwork. Hers range from tan,to what I call army green and from thin and watery to peanut butter consistency.

5)Gas, does your LO have it and if so how bad is it? She is an all or nothing kid, She either has no gas or she has TONS of gas. When she has gas its painful for her, she will do what I call bloody scream when she farts (so sad) and she will let out grown man sized burps. The GGSS formula helped with this tremendously compared to the formula she was on previously but I feel like she is still super gassy about 65-70% of the time, It wouldn't bother me except for it clearly bothers her. After talking yesterday to her pedi he wants us to do a trial can of this Similac Alimentum and see if her gas improves. The next 2-3 days will be the decision maker on weather to switch or stay with the Gerber. I also have found that the gas drops do not work for her, Target brand nor the name brand have given her any relief.

MissyC979 how do you like that brand of bottle? I have looked at them quite a few times but have yet to buy one. I think their sippy cups for when they are older look kind of cool as well.

Thanks for volunteering to take over this check-in!! We are exclusive ff since 2 months. LO had issues digesting in the beginning. She spent a week in NICU and was diagnosed as failure to thrive. She is doing great now but my BM supply never established no matter what I did.

1)What kind are you using?
Gerber Gentle

2)What schedule are you on and how many ounces?
She eats 5oz every 3 hours...she eats at 5, 8, 11, 2, 5, 8, and sometimes wil wake up at random for a bottle at night.

3)Do you use only 1 brand of bottle or do you mix it up?
Tommee Tippee and we have 1 Dr. Browns bottle. She's not picky

4)Lets talk poop! How is your LO's?
She's a pooper!
Sometimes it's this weird yellow, green, bluish mix and sometimes it's just normal. Weird how it changes color and consistency even though she eats the same thing all day every day.

5)Gas, does your LO have it and if so how bad is it?
We use the anti colic bottles by Tommee Tippee and they work great for gas.

1. We are using Enfamil AR (our 4th kind to try)
2. 6 oz every 3-4 hours
3. We just started using BRU bottles with the liners to try to help with his spitting up, but we still use his Gerber and Evenflo bottles sometimes
4. His poop is yellow/seedy and really smells
5. Not really gassy

Dirty lurker here. . . . I wanted to follow up on my Organic Formula post from a few weeks ago to let folks who are interested know - we tried this stuff

and he likes it! Halleluljah! We'll be switching to FF exclusively in a few months here so I wanted to be prepared.

They are okay. I'm not sure I'd buy them again, although I feel committed to them now because we have so many. He dribbles a bit from the nipple. Also, the bottles are really wide and it can be hard to feed him the last bit, without tilting him way back, so that annoys me.

We use playtex avent aire or Dr. browns when I use ready to feed.

Fine, usually once a day sometimes EOD.

3. We only use born free
4. Poops once a day. Sometimes he skips a day. If he skips we get poopsplosions
5. Pretty gassy kid here. We use gripe water and gas drops

Boob, bottle or nuk) which earned her a short stay in NICU I pumped for weeks but supply let up and she's had no issues on this formula so I'm afraid to try and switch 2)What schedule are you on and how many ounces? Baby eats 6ozs every 2-3 hours and one 8 ounce bottle before bed and still gets up for one night time feeding.

We love the playtex airvent

He varies but it does stink, I think it is the formula though

He gets lots of hiccups but not so gassy

Baby's Only with DHA, sometimes Earth's Best. @BootsOrHearts‌ a friend says BO tastes just like breast milk, but can't confirm myself : )

2)What schedule are you on and how many ounces?
Still working on a schedule, seems to be average 5oz every 3.5 to 4hrs, try to give her 6oz at night so she'll sleep longer. Do you think this is too much volume too frequently for 13 weeks?

3)Do you use only 1 brand of bottle or do you mix it up?
Tommee Tippees and some Avent

4)Lets talk poop! How is your LO's?
Constipated if I don't give 3ml of 'Baby Move' prune extract once a day : (

5)Gas, does your LO have it and if so how bad is it?
Thankfully not really. However, for some reason it smells so much better on Baby's Only/EB than when we tried Similac. I have no idea why. When we went back on a similar formula to Sinilac for a week in the UK, it smelled terrible again. Funny, right?

CDalloway I have been told by my pedi that if they drink it and don't spit it up, then its OK to give them ounces wise. My older daughter was like this Dec LO and still on 4oz at this age but my son was drinking around 6-7oz by 13ish weeks. Every baby is different and as long as your LO is not spitty then it should be fine

Also we used Gerber brand formula for a long while, and her gas stunk but 2 days ago we switched to Similac Alimentum to try for another issue and her gas has gotten 10x stinkier. I didn't think it was possible. Maybe its something Similac puts in their formula? All I know is this little girl can clear a room!!!!

Pretty consistent peanut butterish...sometimes turd like, but it generally resolves itself

Definitely not as bad as it used to be

1)What kind are you using? Up & Up sensitive. We were using good start soothe but he was spitting up too much and not gaining enough weight. He is doing great with the Target formula.

2)What schedule are you on and how many ounces? 5-6 oz every 3-4 hours.

3)Do you use only 1 brand of bottle or do you mix it up? We use playtex drop ins and tommy tippee.

4)Lets talk poop! How is your LO's? It's starting to become slightly more solid.

5)Gas, does your LO have it and if so how bad is it? He had it much worse before we started the sensitive formula. DS1 and I both are sensitive to lactose so I'm not surprised G is doing better on the low lactose formula.

Kirkland Brand (from Costco ... I think it's like Similac?)

During the day, probably every 2-3 hours and she does 3-4 oz. Nighttime I'll get a couple of longer stretches. Rarely ever does she eat more than 4 oz at once.

3)Do you use only 1 brand of bottle or do you mix it up? We use Avent, both classic and natural.

4)Lets talk poop! How is your LO's?

Typically 1-2 times a day, peanut butter consistency. Sometimes more liquidy.

5)Gas, does your LO have it and if so how bad is it?

She occasionally has gas, but nothing burping or gas drops can't fix.

Enfamil Newborn now but switching to Enfamil Infant in a couple days. My pedi recommended enfamil AR but he said it could cause constipation. I don't like constipation so I'm scurred to try it.

2)What schedule are you on and how many ounces? Every 3 hours. 6-7 oz. we started homemade puréed carrots yesterday and he gobbled like a half a cup!

3)Do you use only 1 brand of bottle or do you mix it up? exclusively Dr. Browns.

Once a day, in the morning like clockwork.

5)Gas, does your LO have it and if so how bad is it?
Yes he still has gas. I still use gas drops in every bottle. I'm going to try to stop using gas drops but I'm nervous lol.

1)What kind are you using? We are using the Meijer brand version of Enfamil Gentlease. We got a great deal on it awhile back. We might be switching to the Sam's Club version if Meijer does not have a similar sale soon.

2)What schedule are you on and how many ounces? 5 oz every 3-4 ounces. Before bed LO usually takes 6-8 ounces and when he STTN he takes about 6-8 ounces in the morning.

3)Do you use only 1 brand of bottle or do you mix it up? We have exclusively been using Dr. Brown's bottles. I am considering trying a different kind with less parts soon.

4)Lets talk poop! How is your LO's? LO has good days and bad days. This past Monday he was extremely constipated. He could not settle down or get the poop out for hours. I felt so bad for him. He seems to get constipated about once every week or two. Most days he will have 1 good poop

5)Gas, does your LO have it and if so how bad is it? LO's gas is not too bad.

Right now, LO is 50% FF, and 50% BF. Well, I exclusively pump, but supplement. However, I am starting to wean off pumping, so she'll be 100% FF in about a month or so.

1)What kind are you using? Target Up & Up version of Similac Sensitive.

2)What schedule are you on and how many ounces? Every 2 1/2-3 hours, she'll get a total of 4.5-5 oz of food. So, whatever I pump, and the rest formula. Usually between 1.5-2.5 oz of formula per feeding.

3)Do you use only 1 brand of bottle or do you mix it up? We use the Breastflow and Medela bottles.

4)Lets talk poop! How is your LO's? Not often...she poops like once every 3 days. And when she does, it's A LOT of poop....super stinky. I have talked to the doctor about this, as I think it's odd that she doesn't poop more, but they basically just say unless it's more than 5 days, it's not constipation. I think it's weird. Any other LO like this???

5)Gas, does your LO have it and if so how bad is it? YES. It has gotten worse now that she doesn't poop often, and it is soooo smelly. It's like an old man butt; I have nicknamed her sewer butt!!! It doesn't seem to bother her, but we do give her gripe water when it seems to be bad.

We just started supplimenting with formula this week. LO was being so super fussy and I finally figured out I wasnt making enough milk for him.. plus we set our wedding date and its in 6 months so its time to get serious about weight loss!

We tried a sample can of similac advanced first and LO took it once but acted like he hated it. Plus I smelled and tasted it and omg ew lol. So i went and got a can of concentrated emfamil premium and he loves it! And it smelled and tasted alot less chemically to me. I would like to go to organic formula so thats probably what we will try next.

Schedule- I BF and then offer him 2oz more which he usually eats. I eventually want to FF during the day and BF at night.

Bottles- our favorites are the Avent bottles but we also use Dr.Browns and they are ok

Poops- LO usually has 2 big poops a day.

Gas- I have never burped LO, he burps on his own (if I try to burp him he throws up everywhere) and weve never had a gas problem. FX that doesnt change the more we bottle feed!

I also have to share that now that we are supplimenting, LO doesnt throw up like he was.. like at all!! Its so great.

I'd like to participate

1)What kind are you using? We are using Enfamil Infant. We've tried several (started with Gerber, then Enfamil Newborn, and recently tried out Similac) and he does best with Enfamil Infant.

2)What schedule are you on and how many ounces? He usually eats about every 3hrs during the day, and takes 5 or 6oz. At night he will go as long as 8 hour stretches sometimes but will def. need a 6oz bottle before bed and when he does wake up.

3)Do you use only 1 brand of bottle or do you mix it up? We have both Avent Naturals and Tommee Tippee. I can't decide which I like better, but we have more of the Avent.

4)Lets talk poop! How is your LO's? It has changed recently. He is pooping once or twice a day now. A couple weeks ago though he was going after almost every feeding.

5)Gas, does your LO have it and if so how bad is it? I've got a gassy boy. Although since we have been consistent on the Enfamil Infant, he doesn't seem to be in pain from it as much. He was in definite pain from the gas on all the other formulas.

Every other day usually, normal so far.
