Vibration sensation in pelvic area

I've been feeling a vibration sensation in my pelvis constantly for the past three days. Like as if a cell phone is inside me. (Best way I can describe) I'm 39 weeks tomorrow. Anyone else experiencing this? I emailed my doctor yesterday and said she has never heard of this. :-/

Re: Vibration sensation in pelvic area

  • The exact same thing happened to me at 27 weeks and my doctor said he's never heard of it either. It continued for two days and then stopped.

  • This is completely odd to me since I have never experienced this with my previous two. The only conclusion I can come up with is that the baby has dropped so low and is hitting a nerve that is not getting enough circulation...
  • I don't want to scare you, I'm simply telling you my experience, and yours may be COMPLETELY different. That vibrating sensation happened to me off and on for a month before Skippy was born. And, my best description was also of a cell phone vibrating in my pelvis. The first midwife I saw, said she'd never heard of anything like it. The second midwife I went to, sent me for an in-depth scan, and the best conclusion they could come to was that Skippy was having seizures. Some practitioners will adamantly say that babies don't have seizures in the womb, but Skippy continued to have a seizure disorder until he was 5 years old. He's totally healthy otherwise, and he has outgrown his disorder. I hope yours is nothing to be concerned about - it could be as simple as your baby's hair tickling your cervix.

  • I used to feel this with dd. it was just a little shiver and then would stop. It stumped my doc. Best I can figure is that she was just trying to stretch out and couldn't, so her muscles twitched for a couple seconds.

  • Hello, lurking from March 14 as baby is delayed. I had this for about 3 months (months 5,6,7) and my doc said it wasn't baby shaking, but that she was sitting on a nerve and it was the nerve reacting. Totally normal, nothing they can really do, but nothing to worry about.
