Q-tips and toe nails

Anybody use Qtips for LOs ears? I know it's dangerous, my mom almost punctured my ear drum as a baby but I'm looking for other ways to dry his ears and get some excess wax out. Oh and has anybody trimmed baby's toe nails? Now that I think about it the title made me think of using Qtips between LOs toe for hard to reach gunk

  • I'm not sure I know what's going on.

But if you're really asking if you can use Q-tips in the baby's ears, that is a big fat newp. Don't do it. You said yourself your Mom almost punctured your eardrum trying to clean with them. I think you have your answer...

Just in case you are being serious? I use baby Qtips: the ones that are big enough not to go all the way into the ear canal.

If you're just poking the bears? Stop it. Stop it now.

Seriously?!!?! Oh so happy to here of their existence !! Totally gonna get some!

    Yes!! Totally me
  • Nobody answering my toe nails question. My lil dudes toe nails are so oddly shaped it seems virtually impossible but I don't want them snagging on a blanket or his clothes.

And my genius idea for use of Qtips... Ugh I get nothing
  • Yes, I've clipped his toe nails to avoid this situation

  • I'm pretty sure Qtips were invented to remove unwanted eyeliner, mascara and nail polish. ; )

No but seriously, you're doing nothing good for your ears sticking that thing in there.

Yes, it says on the packaging to NOT put them in your ears.

  • Really?!?! I've never read the package I just know I've never heard a doctor say it's a good thing.
  • Good Lord, woman. You are a mess.

Well we can't all be perfect like you ;)

Never ever ever put anything in your lo's ear ever!!!! If you feel he has an abundance of wax your pedi can and will clean it out. You should never use anything more than a washcloth and a finger tip to clean a babies ear. If it's full of water cover them during bath time.
You can't be that dumb, right!?! Your post are killing me.

Dude ! The entire point of the post is what can I use because I know I can't get near a qtip. Dios mio!

I actually cut my ds's toenails the other day. It wasn't that hard, but he did move a lot. I do his nails when he's sleeping, it makes it a lot easier to take my time.

  • Our pedi told us to use mineral oil in our baby's ears to clear wax out, twice each week.
