July 2013 Moms

Lucas's Wednesday Weigh-in (mostly PIPs of his gift from J13!)

Yesterday after all the vomiting he was down to 15#0oz; this morning after a night of TPN and no vomiting he was back up to 15#8oz so we're headed in the right direction.

We're easing back in - Pedialyte today, milk tomorrow, solids after that if it's going well. TPN through the weekend, then hopefully no more and we can do another trial run off of it but from a better starting point this time.

I finally saw the details of his labs from last week (before this mess started, and after 2 weeks without TPN) and they were beautiful. Hoping we're right back there very soon.

And finally, Lucas AWing his gift from J13!:

He was like, really mom, you're taking pictures of me *again*?

And you want me to do what? Smile?! Ummm....image

OKAY!image

But you're not getting a smile pic that's not blurry because now I'm bored with this and still kind of mad about that whole NPO thing and pick me up now. image

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts!
DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome.
131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
