Short term disability

Has anyone ever used this? I went to work the other day and now can't feel my feet just like after my c section, my pt said its time to look into it as I am not getting better. I am supposed to have another MRI and the docs desp want to do an emg but I have no desire as its a horrible test.

    I used it for my maternity leave....what do you want to know? I feel like I have a pretty good undersfanding

    This is what my maternity leave falls under as well. Are you trying to figure out how much you get or?

    Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born. 

    6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived

    10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP

    I literally know nothing about it except it exists, is it for anyone that works or just full time? Is it easy to get?

    I was working super pt then made it to full pt and was going to go ft by August.
    DH thinks I should just quit but there is no way we can afford that and pay all our medical bills for April.

    This is an ongoing issue so maybe the proverbial jack will go back in the box.

    You know really it depends on your company. My company pays for our short term disability but they have set weeks you get in the employee handbook at full and at .66 your salary for pay and depending on what your disability is determines how many weeks you get paid. Now I know you can purchase short term outside your company but some companies you have to meet certain qualifications. One company my friend purchased short term through she had to purchase before she got pregnant or she wouldn't qualify for it.

    I have STD through my company and used it for part of my maternity leave both times. It pays .66% of my salary for 6 weeks. I was issued a check for the lump sum each time, and I had to use any PTO prior to using my STD benefits.

    DX: DOR and MFI 

     

    IVF w/ICSI brought us our 1st precious miracle

    V born via induction 4.29.11

    TTC #2: IVF (MDLF) August/September 2012

    ER 9/7: 6R, 5M, 4F ET 9/12: 5dt of 2 blasts 

    +HPT 9/17! Beta #1 (9/25) = 1,000 Beta #2 (9/27) = 1,860 U/S #1 (10/11)...TWINS!

    1/8/13 - It's a..boy and a girl!!

    If you are looking for the benefit offered through your employer, there will most definitely be a waiting period. At my company, it's 6 months (for full time employees, I am not sure what it is for PT)...  After that the plan breaks down how long you are elligible for leave. You need be out of work for 1 week before it kicks in - so your first week would be your vacation time.

    As far as what it pays you - it varies greatly by company.  For my maternity leave I was fortuante to get paid out at 100%. With the job I began a few weeks ago, I will only get paid at 80%.... Additionally it would cover you until dr deems you ok to go back to work.

    If you are looking to purchase it from an outside company, I have no idea how tha tworks,
