8 Weeks - Bleeding 8 days

I have been bleeding for the last 8 days.  I went to the OB and have been in close contact with them.  The ultrasound showed that our baby has a strong heartbeat, and my cervix was closed when my OB examined me.  Both good signs.  The ultrasound didn't show an area where blood was coming from in the uterus.  Bottom line, they don't really know why I'm bleeding.  Today it has been thicker, like clotting, but not any heavier.  I've had no cramping at all.  So I guess I am just looking to hear other stories from moms with similar experiences.

A little background...  This is my second pregnancy.  With my first BG, I had a c-section.  The only complication with that was I developed a hematoma afterward from some blood that was lost in my body during the surgery.  I talked with my OB about this--she was not the one who did my c-section.  She doesn't seem to think it is linked with my current issues.  Part of me still wonders because I had bleeding for 4 months after my c-section.  I was always told when you have a c-section, you don't bleed as much as a vaginal delivery afterward.  Anyway, I'm open to any stories or suggestions.  Thanks.

    Hi, this is my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy I noticed brown discharge when I would wipe and rushed to the ER. Luckily, the baby was fine. I had him at 36 weeks. This time around I am 7 weeks pregnant and noticed on Friday that I have the same brown spotting or discharge only when I wipe. From what I have been reading online it has said as long as it is not bright red bleeding along with cramping it should be normal. Keep me posted! Congrats!

    Thanks for your reply.  Mine has been red since last Tuesday.  My OB checked everything.  Still no cramps.  It does seem to be going back to a darker red color.  This is almost like a period.  

    Congrats on your second pregnancy as well!

    Thank you for the info.  I was bright red when they did all the examining and the U/S.  Baby had a strong heartbeat @ 150 at that time.  Since then it's still red but getting a darker color and sometimes brown. I have a follow-up appointment scheduled in a few weeks.  They told me to come back if the bleeding worsens, I start cramping, pass tissue, etc. None of that is happening yet.  *fingers crossed*

    I've had spotting and periods of red bleeding since day one. I am 9w7d and still have some spotting that seems to be tapering off (fingers crossed). They have me taking it easy: no sex or high impact exercise. It's hard to have bleeding that lasts like this but you just have to remain positive. I've been into the OB every week and see a strong heartbeat and baby developing well. I hope yours doesn't last much longer. If you are at all feeling uneasy, call your OB. That's what they are there for. To ensure things are okay and provide reassurance (or of course the bad news if that's the case). Take it easy and best wishes!

    Lurking...I had bleeding with this pregnancy. It started at 7 weeks and lasted a couple of days then it was off and on up until week 15. Mainly browinsh reddish color and just enough to fill maybe half of a pantyliner. I would go like 3-7 days of bleeding then it would stop then start back up again. Very nerve racking! My dr couldn't figure out what was causing it as well. I was also on modified bedrest during my 1st tri due to the bleeding. But here I am 32 weeks and all is well so far.
