Dangerous recipes- NTGPR

I've made these before, but they normally get eaten up super quickly by friends or whoever is around. This time around, I make them and my husband has maybe 2 of them... They're almost all gone.. there's 2 left.. I made them yesterday. I've been home with the dogs, and they certainly didn't help themselves to the fridge.

I JUST CAN'T CONTROL MYSELF AROUND THE WHITE CARBS!

What recipe is dangerous in your house? I would recommend this recipe, it's super easy and yummy.. Make sure you have friends to give the leftovers to ;)

Re: Dangerous recipes- NTGPR

  • What my husband calls "fat kid snacks." They're club crackers with parmesan cheese on top, wrapped with bacon and baked.

They only get made for holidays...because we don't have enough life insurance to cover my husband having a heart attack at age 30.
Those sound delicious. I think we would need to make those holiday treats at my house too ;) Bacon is too easy to scarf down.

  • Pioneer woman has a chicken cordon bleu casserole that is gone the second it hits the table.

I also make these Martha Stewart praline cookies that everyone calls my holiday crack cookies. Those only get made at Christmas because otherwise I'd probably be diabetic.
I LOVE The Pioneer Woman. So much of my comfort food repertoire comes from her goodness! I'll have to try the cordon bleu casserole
  • Monkey Squares. It's basically a banana brownie (tastes very much like banana bread but super moist-- yes i know people here hate that word, i couldnt think of a better one to describe it) with a brown butter frosting. DH and I eat the whole pan of them before they even cool.

I'm pretty sure the image is big and upside down, but I can't figure out how to change it. I was trying to find it in a link, but all of the ones I've found online are just a bit different. These are the best chocolate chip cookies. I only make them at Christmas because they're a lot of work and also they are inhaled.

Also, green bean bundles wrapped in bacon with some brown sugar melted in butter poured over the top and baked. I could eat those all day.

  • Monkey munch .... Melted peanut butter and chocolate chips poured over Chex mix. Mix well and coat with powdered sugar. It's fucking awesome!
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • THESE! I made these last summer for the first time, and they are SO good.  And really dangerous, because I have a hard time stopping at one.  I freeze them as soon as I make them now, and plop one out... then I don't eat 4.

  • Chicken Spaghetti - self explanatory, but the secret is Mexican Velveeta (Yep! it's a real thing.)

Oatmeal Scotchies - AMAZING oatmeal raisin cookies with white chocolate morsels and butterscotch morsels - I add cranberries too.

7-layer Dip - not sure if everyone will know this one. layer the following in this order: re-fried beans, taco meat with extra taco seasoning, reg or spicy guac, sour cream, pico (this counts as tomato and onions), and shredded cheese on top

Cheese Dip with venison breakfast sausage - velveeta, rotel, a little milk and the sausage

there are others - my best recipes are usually un-healthy ones......

Edit: Add Peanut Brittle to the list (only at Christmas time) and explanations of some of the above.
All my good recipes are unhealthy ones too.. All my healthy stuff can get pretty boring. It's not fair! ;)
  • Another awesome dip. I think it's called man dip. It's basically a pack of the roll sausage, 2 blocks of cream cheese, 1 can of rotel tomatoes. It's to die for!
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Giada makes a pretty insane creamy spinach and mushroom lasagna. Only downside is that I never have any leftovers for lunch the next day.

I found the recipe.  I will be making this for dinner sometime next week!!!  I mean, its just vegetables, right? ;)

And how the hell is that woman so damned skinny??

My recipe: take a box of Ghirardelli's chocolate chip brownie mix, prepare it, and then set individual unwrapped Ghirardelli squares on top and bake.  The chocolate melts into the brownies.  Soooooooo good.

  • When every I make the Sausage and Cheddar Crescent Squares my family kills the entire pan. I have to make two when ever we have people over or I just want something to snack on.
