We are planning a big party for our 10th anniversary. The date is Oct 25th. I had originally envisioned just a sweet party where I get to buy myself a new pretty dress etc. Now DH mentioned doing a costume theme. I love Halloween...but like the idea of just getting all pretty. What would you do?

I would aim for the fancy costume party...but I am sure I wont be able to stop others.

I am so torn. I have time...but I like to plan costumes ahead

We also want it to be kid friendly...at least until most should be headed to bed. And then the only change would be musically...we had a heavy metal band at our wedding reception and will be trying to get them out of "retirement"

I would tell him you really had your heart set on a more traditional party and ask if he would be open to hosting a costume party another time instead.

He sees this as a reason to invest in a keg. I dont think he will care too much in the end

Which makes it a little harder since I like both ideas and it will come down to my decision.
