Food Allergy

Question about blood testing levels...

Quick question about blood testing.  If you ate something the weekend before a Monday blood test that you were being tested for, would your number be elevated based on consuming that food?  Even though you were not reacting to eating that food?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Re: Question about blood testing levels...

  • The test shows if you have an ige response to that food. If you are not allergic to the food, the result will be negative. The test doesn't show whether the food is in your system, it shows if your body has produced an immune response to the food.
