Insomnia?

I had some vivid dreams for a couple of nights after my D&C and now I am having trouble sleeping. I am exhausted, but can't shut my mind off and once I do sleep I don't stay asleep. Any thoughts on how to let it go enough to get some rest?

  • Ticker warning.

I really need to go to my doc for help sleeping I think, too. I cannot fall asleep so I've been drinking a glass or two of wine before bed. Totally not a healthy habit to get into, I know, but it works. Hope you are able to sleep better soon!

  • Wine and yoga are on tonight's schedule (but you're right about the wine not being the best long term plan!)

  • Well at least you include yoga! My dh hasn't said anything, yet, but I know it's coming. It's only been a little over a week for me, though, so I feel I deserve a little wine before trying to be 'normal.' Sorry for the bad advice, though ;)

Me too. Maybe it's the hormones fluctuating? Anyhow, in times like these I like to employ the whatever works method. Melatonin, wine, yoga, anything for a good nights sleep!
  • I had it for 3 weeks straight and I would get at most 3hrs sleep which had vivid dreams so I know I was not in a light sleep. I went to my doctor and she's told me I have to keep my room not active. It's just used for sex and sleep not watching movies and doing my hair & makeup. I've been applying some of those rules and now I'm back to normal sleep. So maybe give that a try and lavender is also great and relaxing and smells pretty,
  • I also had trouble sleeping right after. My mind just wouldn't shut off. Once I went back to work the exhaustion kicked in. I hope you can find something to help you.
