First time traveling away from LO

I have my first work related travel coming up in April. I will be gone 3 nights and am having anxiety ranging from mild to panic. I fear LO being a mess while I'm gone or her forgetting me or being mad at me. I don't know what to expect. My husband is great with her and will be fine taking care of her, but I've always been the one to put her to bed and get up with her in the morning. He's put her to bed when I haven't been around with no issue.

Those who've done this already...what was your experience? How did your LO react?

IVF and Natural FET resulted in BFN's and a hole in our wallets
Natural BFP #4 on 9/7/12 gave us our miracle on 5/18/13

I recently left for 2 nights for a girls weekend. My H didn't get much sleep because C woke up a lot both nights and he had to drive him around for naps, which I never do. But he was safe, taken care of and they both survived. I'm not sure who was happier to see me, the baby or my H. I'm sure your daughter will be just fine and happy to see you when you return!

  • I have done it three times now, the first time was the worst mostly because my DH was in a panic and he called me losing his sh** and there was nothing I could do.

LO really has been fine though, my husband has said that they had fun together and he was pretty chill the whole time.

As long as his needs are met and he is taken care of by someone who loves him your LO will be totally ok.  You will probably find that it is a nice break for you and you will get a little boost from the time away.

  • I travel about once a month for work, sometimes more often, the trips range from 3 nights to a week.

My first was when he was about 5 months old, so he (and DH) got used to it when he was younger.

I tell you what, It seems a lot harder on me than him, DH says he doesnt really even seem to notice, but he is always really excited when I get home.

  • I'll be doing my first overnight mid-April.  I'm a bit nervous, but we convinced MIL to come and help him with DD.

  • DH and I left R with my parents for a weekend in January. The little brat slept the best he ever had with them and cried when they left. I was happy he had a great time but really sad he didn't miss us. At some point this summer I'll have to go back to NY for some wedding stuff for my cousin and DH will be alone for the first time. The longest he's been alone with R is a few hours. I'm nervous but DH couldn't be happier. He's really excited to try it on his own.
