I used them with DD#1 for a little bit. When I had a huge over supply and was soaking breast pads when she nursed off the other breast, I used them and saved the milk. I really didn't use them for too long. I always had an oversupply but eventually I wasn't leaking so much and didn't bother. Washing them became more of a pain then was worth in collecting the milk.
I had considered using these, but my supply regulated itself fairly quickly so it seemed they would have been a waste as I would have been using them for a short amount of time.

I used one- the medala shells (not shields) served the same purpose AND helped the healing process as it kept my shirt off my nipples and allowed air flow. They don't hold quite as much though so it depends on how much your leaking.
