Who uses them for their Lo's teething? Do you feel they have helped? I have a LO who seems to not handle pain well. Tylenol and Advil do not seem to do the trick. I've done teething tablets, cold washcloth, freezing the paci, etc.
We just started using one about 2 weeks ago and I was shocked at the difference it made for Will. He all ready had 4 or 5 teeth when I got it though. He was being super cranky and so drooly so I got one, he instantly stopped drooling and seemed to be much happier. I only take his off for bath time and the one time I forgot to put it back on he was literally drooling so much that he left a drool trail behind him as he crawled all over the house. He has 6 teeth now and 1 more is coming in. For the price I would give it a try, it might help your little one too.

I think ours really helped. Make sure you get it from a reputable source, there are a lot of fakes out there.
There shouldn't be much risk of strangulation if you're supervising your kid. If LO is sleeping or you can't keep a close eye, it can be wrapped around the ankle and tucked into a sock to at least get some of the benefits. Also, well made ones are made to break easily to prevent such risk. Most are individually knotted, incase of breakage to keep little beads from flying everywhere.
I would recommend to go for raw amber vs. polished, as raw seems to be more effective.
@kari5186, I actually got mine from the shop I work in. I believe she orders from a wholesaler, I don't know if they do individual sales. I'll try to find out!
We have an amber bracelet my mil got us. She tries to chew on it, gets it all sloppy, and it pops off. We've been looking for a necklace to try instead
I don't think the slight chance of it helping is worth the risk at all.
I see both sides of the coin. We co-sleep so I am sure there won't be a strangulation issue on our end. I read an article in Parenting magazine that says the "real" ones are made differently so this isn't a concern, but the potential is there. However, there are RISKS with everything in life.
My dd has an amber bracelet. I had one too for my wrist pain and it did help. It didn't take away all the pain. But I'm pretty sure it was more than a placebo effect.

Numerous infants wear teething necklaces, a quack remedy with a real risk of strangulation or aspiration of small beads.
DS born 6/2013
My MIL gave us one and the second time I went to put it on DD, one of the beads popped off. I decided it was too much of a risk for me.
