9 Weeks Pregnant

So Hungry but EVERYTHING grosses me out :{

Im 9 weeks and everything I think I might want to eat ends up grossing me out! I used to love red meat but now I can't even look at it. When I was pregnant with my daughter I was craving chicken and snickers. I can't even think about chocolate now :{ The only thing I have been able to eat and enjoy is fruit. Is this normal? I havent thrown up yet but I feel like Im going to all day. I got those sea bands last week and they seem to be helping.

Re: So Hungry but EVERYTHING grosses me out :{

  • I am right there with you! At least we're craving fruit and not junk food! Blueberries have really been wonderful at helping me avoid nausea.

  • I'm the exact same way! I had a pretty healthy diet before I got pregnant and I use to love veggies and had 4 to 6 of them a day but now they gross me out just thinking of eating them. I also never really liked fruit but that is all I want to eat! I buy any random fruit I can find and devour it. The other thing I was craving around weeks 4 to 6 was cheez-its and cheetos but the thought of real cheese makes me want to puke. Food cravings and aversions are crazy! I didn't expect the feelings to be so strong!
  • Yeah, I'm the same way too.  I'm really into clean, crisp-tasting things now (like fruit and fresh veggies).  I am normally a huge milk drinker and I eat yogurt and ice cream, but sadly I just can't get excited about that stuff now.  I also am not typically into fruit, but that's almost all I want now.  Luckily I've only been nauseous--nothing has made me actually get sick yet.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that!
  • PP, me too. I can't stomach milk right now, but luckily I can still do ice cream so I get my calcium that way. I still have to supplement though because I just can't bring myself to have milk.

Fruit is the only thing I can eat when I'm feeling super nauseous, so I guess it's normal!

  • I can totally relate as my diet has been that of someone with the flu for about a month now.  I am so miss the feeling of being full and satisfied!  For now I am eating a lot of yogurt, fruit, soups, crackers and drinking tons of water and gingerale.
  • Hi! I have the same thing! I always joke about being a "meatatarian" because I love meat! I love beef, pork, chicken, ANYTHING MEAT!!! (I am also 9 wks today!!) But for the past, about 2 weeks, I can't even LOOK at meat. It grosses me out! It makes me sad! I am hungry all the time and the idea of eating meat grosses me right out and feel nausea, but no vomiting. It seems to only happen to me in the evenings...what I found seems to help is to makes sure I eat lots throughout the day because it seems the hungrier I am the more it grosses me out. Try to get lots of protein in when you can! Also, this might just be me...but I find that it's the big "chunk of meat" like steak, chicken breast, etc that I have the hard time with where beef in the form of taco's or something not as thick, and with spices to hide the odor seem more doable!! Good luck!! I'm glad I'm not the only one!
  • I wish that I was just grossed out! I want to eat everything but I throw up everything I eat! :(
  • I am feeling the same way!! I'm 9 wks today & just about nothing seems good to me except for fruits & veggies. I eat a lot of them anyways since we are vegan. This is my second pregnancy & it is TOTALLY different than the 1st. With my son it was the easiest most wonderful pregnancy. Never even felt sick or anything once. This time is so different, I haven't actually vomited, just the nausea. It seems to be subsiding, but the loss of appetite is really annoying! Good luck through the rest of your pregnancies mama's! :)

  • I am 9 weeks too! I was eating a lot of fruit too. I found that making myself drink a protein shake first thing in the morning helps with my morning sickness and appetite the rest of the day. It sounds terrible but actually tastes good and goes down pretty easy!
  •  The constant empty/sour stomach feeling is horrible! I used to LOVE salads and now I can't even think about veggies. The only things I want to eat are carbs, i.e bread, french fries, anything brown. Which I guess is ok since they help temporarily subside the sour stomach feeling.
  • I am the same way. Food is not appealing to me except for breakfast. However when i do eat something it usually taste amazing to me...well, going down at least.

  • I'm therewith you.  All I'm really getting down right now is chocolate milk & mashed potatoes.

  • Fruit is the ONLY thing that I can eat after thinking all day ong about wha I want to eat. I have waisted so much food in the last nine weeks it terrible. My fiance propbably hates me for this.. Lol!
  • I hate reading all this because I thought by week 9 people should be feeling better! Lol. I got really nauseated last night. I am hoping it doesn't happen again. I've had two children and never had MS so I'm nervous about getting it this time... but I was hoping if I hadn't yet that I won't.

  • I feel the exact same way, I feel so bad too because I know i need to eat to give the baby nutrients but I can hardly find anything that appeals to me what-so-ever! :/
  • I am feeling it too. I had to make myself dinner 3 times the other night and spit it out each time. I ended up eating a quesidilla and then a strawberry fruit bar. My body has completely rejected sugar since being pregnant and other than fruit and juice I can't eat anything with it! I want a snickers bar so bad! I am just going by whatever I am craving. Yesterday I ate burrito bowls all day as that was all my body wanted. My body has also rejected all food greasy, deep fried, and fattening! That used to be my whole diet. Eating has really become a challenge. I hope it gets better by thanksgiving!

  • I feel like this child is a mini little beast. I'll start to get hungry and by 15 minutes later I'll be starving and my stomach will be killing me and then only for fruits and veggies! Bizarre!

  • At least some of you crave good things. I used to eat super healthy before now it's been nothing but horrible food!
  • Same here. Though its more like I wanted fish sticks the other day but the next day the smell was enough to make me leave the house. I literally went 2 weeks surviving on nothing but Popsicles. Which I know is very bad. I just hope I am not hurting the baby. I haven't really been craving fruit but I might try to see if I can at least stomach that. I mean at 9 weeks we have to eat something right? lol
  • Right now EVERYTHING with even the slightest amount of greese makes me puke...it's awful. Good news is, this baby wants to be healthy!
  • The SAME exact thing is happening to me! I'm grossed out by some of my absolute favorite foods and craving fruits and vegetables vs. fatty things! All the time I get blank stares from family and friends telling me how weird it is that I'm pigging out on fruits all day but it's the only thing that's appetizing to me! I kept thinking I was the only odd ball that felt this way, it's good to know I'm not alone :) Lol!

  • I am 9 weeks and i feel the same. My food aversions began a few weeks ago, it started off slow with just some of the foods that i used to like a lot and then got increasingly worse. It has gotten to the point were i can barely eat anything without feeling like i am going to puke it up. Nothing sounds good anymore. I have been focusing on lots of fruits, veggies and staying hydrated. I hope this passes soon! My last pregnancy (i had a boy) i never once felt sick, never puked and craved / wanted to eat anything and everything. I know that every pregnancy is different and gender typically has very little to do with it, but i am hoping that this time it is a girl :)
  • I'm 9 weeks today as well and the day I can eat something else besides peanut butter sandwiches, crackers and The berry V8 Fusion Splash, I will be okay! :...it is a major struggle even taking my prenatal vitamin which is a Flintstones vitamin, because I can't take the kind that was prescribed to me! Smh....the excessive saliva, headaches, gas, all dayeveryday nausea, ongoing pains in my lower stomach...need I say more?!!!!...I'm so grateful for forums like these for me to get things out! Lol!....as I have said before and will continue to say, I know this is only temporary, and, all of what I am experiencing now will be a distant memory when my little pumpkin is born! :...I thank God for blessing me to see 9 weeks! :
  • I am right there with you I am now 9wks pregnant with our 1st child, everything grosses me out.  I have even lost 7lbs which is a lot of weight for me.  I spoke to my ob and she said that I don't have to worry about the weight loss as long as I am eating but I can tell my husband is worried.  He doesn't understand the nausea can be overwhelming.  I too bought the sea bands so far they are not helping but I'll wear them to try anything.  Right now I'm not wanting any meat and chicken and the thought of. Chicken is the worst which is ironic to my mom because she said that's all she ate with me.  I'm trying to find ways to get protein in like eating beans which have been tasty.  For those of you who are liking veggies right now last night I had a tomato and avocado sandwich which was really delicious and easy on my stomach.  All the best : )
  • I'm 9 weeks today! The thought of certain food makes me feel nauseous. That's why I've been craving for oranges Something that doesn't smell. I guess from reading all the replies, fruits are normal at this stage of pregnancy.
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one! I'm nine weeks with my first pregnancy. Everything I used to love eating I can't stomach the thought of anymore. I don't really want to eat fruit either but once I take a bite I can't stop. It's the only thing that my stomach can handle. The DH is freaking out since I'm not eating anything he makes.

  • I've got the opposite problem. I can hardly eat anything, nothing appeals to me. It takes everything in me to keep down water! Just trying to hang in there until the nausea subsides.
  • I have really been into frozen fruit pops. The all natural ones. And saltine crackers. I am hoping that I will be able to eat more substantial foods after this month.
  • I am struggling with finding food that sounds good, or even edible.

By dinner time I haven't eaten a thing and get so hungry but nothing sounds good, except occasionally things that aren't readily available.

I also started eating some red grapes the other day even though I didn't want them, ended up eating like a half pound.

  • I await the day this puking stage is over. I'm exactly 9w2d and I haven't been able to keep too much of anything down. I don't just get grossed out, I puke up everything literally. Chocolate milk helps at night time but I can't find a food to eat and stay down besides natural popcorn.
  • I'm so glad I found this post! I am the same way. Once I hit 8 weeks I thought I was in the clear with morning sickness... nope! It hit like a train on 8weeks and 6 days. Its the strangest feeling in the world. I haven't thrown up, but nothing sounds appetizing to me! I just want to eat bread and pasta all the time. Meat grosses me out and the thought of veggies makes me lose my appetite completely! I can stomach fruit after I make myself start to eat it, but it's a struggle even getting in my mouth. lol Just happy to know this is is happening to other girls as well. I find it hard to believe that this feeling will ever go away, but I'm hoping for the best!

  • I feel you. I have been wanting horrible things too. Mostly yogurt pretzels and French fries. Then I'll do a complete 180 and start wanting nothing but salad and green olives. So weird...
  • I feel the exact same way. Food seems to be my enemy these days. Nothing sounds good and I have to force myself to eat. The only thing that seems to be ok is fruit like you said. I am starving all day long and never seem to be satisfied :(. Im hoping this will end soon!
  • I'm exactly the same.... I fancy something then go supermarket to get it take one look at it and it turns on me. Only thing that's constant is plain fairy cakes and coco pops x
  • well...i gez im not alone...i can't even smell, see, or even listen if anyone is talking about food...i just feel like puking...d thing is i only vomitted twice and nausea most of the time...im very hungry and felt frustrated due to the fact that i can't consume anything..im 7 weeks pregnant
