1st Trimester

Back pains?

I went to the doctor last week, he confirmed I am 10 weeks, baby heart beat is about 165 bpm and growing normally. I am now having back pains on my right side and a little in my pelvic on my right side as well and that makes me nervous. I still have morning sickness and tender breast so I know my symptoms are still there but has anyone else had these pains. I am so worried to lose the baby the stress cant be good.

That sounds completely normal.  A lot of women react early to the hormone relaxin and get heartburn and back pain.  The hormone is what helps your pelvis loosen for the birth but a lot of people feel its effects early on.  If you're spotting or having period-like cramps that's different but early back pain is very common.

  • It's pretty normal. I had cramps and full backaches like that in my first pregnancy during this the first trimester off and on. It made me constantly feel like I was going to start my AF at any given moment even after I had already confirmed my pregnancy. Just make sure to keep and eye out for worsening symptoms or any new ones. At one point I actually had a UTI that was starting to move into my kidneys as the source of my pain in the same areas as you. I had just shrugged it off because I had been having lots of weird cramps and aches since I got pregnant.
