So my co-worker was just telling me about how he had a reversed vasectomy after his wife decided she did in fact want another child. Would reversal ever come in question for any of you that have had a DH go through it?
We are making the decision in one year, and at that point we have hit our "window" of time for what we would want DD and a sibling to be apart, so there is no way we would reconsider at that point.
No, we got a V done when we were 100% sure. 100%. = not wanting another ever. No ifs, buts or any situations would change this.
That's how i figured it went. But apparently she (his wife) had some sort of crisis. It sounded horrible!
She wasn't 100% then I always feel bad for the husbands, yo. To have to get work done on their parts again. Blech! Plus that just all-around sucks because it's not guaranteed it will even work and reverse. So to want another and not be able sucks, I would guess.
No way. Not only would I not want him to go through it if we weren't 100% sure, our doctor stressed to us that we shouldn't go into it thinking that it was going to be reversible. Not that it isn't a possibility, but it isn't as easy as the original procedure and it may not work so it's not a risk worth taking (the original snip) if you aren't 100% sure.
I'm still a fence sitter but if we go through the hassle of DH getting snipped I'd take that as a pretty good sign that we're done. I wouldn't make him get a reversal, I suppose if I really felt like I needed another child after that I'd look into adoption.
We (should say I) had been about 90% OAD but waited until recently as DS will be 5 next week. No way I'm toting around a 6+ year old and an infant! We decided that if we ever felt the need for another we would consider adoption.
