Daytime napping in crib

Good afternoon ladies was wondering how you guys did it or are gonna do it. My son has slept in his crib since month 1 all night but I wanna start getting him to nap in there during the day as well. He's used to napping in his lil rocker/bouncer chair thing where ever I am.

Re: Daytime napping in crib

  • Naps in the crib have been an ongoing challenge here.   He will usually babble for a little bit, then cry for a few minutes so then have to kneel next to the crib with my hand on his chest for and then he seems to settle down.    Not always the case though and sometimes I just give up and put him in the swing.   He's napping in his crib right now, going on an hour, so today is a good day.  Yesterday sucked.   Fingers crossed that we get to a consistent sleep schedule soon

  • I decided that by April, I want Nora napping in her crib as well now that she is out of the cat-nap phase and taking 2 long naps during the day.

I moved her from her bouncy chair into her pack and play 3 weeks ago for naps to allow her to get used to the bigger space before putting her straight to the crib. It worked really well.

  • Try the pack n play. That worked for us.

  • Thank ladies I will try that! We tired a nap in the crib today didn't seem too bad he rolled around and talked to him self for about 15 min till he fell asleep so atleast there were no tears today!
  • I rock her to sleep and then put her in the crib. She used to sleep in pnp before and doesn't seem that she even noticed I moved her to crib since she falls asleep in my arms anyway

No advice, but you have my sympathy. We're dealing with this too. LO has been sleeping in the crib at night since approx. 6 weeks old with no issues, but naps are a different story. I can get 2-4 hr naps in the swing, but no more than 30 min. in the crib.

I'm really worried about what happens when LO outgrows the swing...he is already almost 20 lbs at 16 wks, and I'm way too dependent on it!

Same here!! This is why we are starting now we are worried about what happens when he outgrows the bouncy he sleeps so peaceful in >.< haha
