December 2013 Moms

anyone's lo sleeping in pack n play for an extended period of time?

We have a two bedroom townhome.  WE are listing our home for sale in two weeks and hopefully getting out by the end of Summer.  So Anya is going to be sleeping in her pack n play until then.  I am wondering if anyone else out there is in the same situation.  Did you buy a pack n play mattress?  Right now she is in the bassinet part that hooks on but I just feel bad that she does not have a crib like my son had.

  • The only place my lo will sleep is in the pnp (the regular part since he's to big for the cradle part). We have a crib and he doesn't sleep in it yet. I just use the thin mattress that comes with it. She'll be fine in it.

  • DD1 slept mostly in the pnp for almost 9 months. She and DS shared a room and she was a horrible sleeper so we had her in the pnp in our room til she was 9 months. There were a few random nights in the crib but it was mostly pnp.

  • Our LO has slept in the pnp since the day we came home from the hospital. We room share and I plan on doing it until he is at least six months. He sleeps just fine on the pad that it came with. He doesn't know anything else so it doesn't matter to him.

  • LO slept in the PNP in our room until he was a little over three months and seemed fine with it (not that he knew anything else).
  • Ditto, my guy only sleeps in the PNP until we're done room sharing.

  • DD sleeps in the PNP. We live in a 1br apartment right now. We are moving in June and will be getting her a convertible crib at that time.

DD sleeps in a bassinet but DS slept in his pnp for 9 months before we moved him to his crib. We had no issues, I just put a blanket down and tucked the corners under the pad.

  • My son who is 8 now spent 2.5yrs in a pnp. We roomed in till that age and he went right from the pnp to a toddler bed. He was fine and never cared he didn't have a crib. This December LO will be the same. She spent the first 2 months in the cuddle cove portion of her pnp and now she is on the top big bassinet part. She has 5 more pounds before I have to lower it and then that will be her bed till she is between 2 and 2.5. She spends half her time in bed with me anyway and as she gets older it will only increase. I don't put anything under her now the "mattress" it comes with she is fine with. Once she is older as in like can sit up from laying down solo I will give her a comforter to lay on top of.
