Salt on baby food?

What is the deal with no salt on baby food? I have never heard of not doing it.

    Honestly, I think anything in moderation is OK. I think my pedi even said you don't need to avoid salt. I make chicken with BBQ sauce and give it to DD.

    I put a little salt on tomatoes and mashed avocado. I don't think it's a big deal.

    I don't tend to ever use salt but I'm sure a lot of the spices I use include it. I was really particular over this in the beginning now I've just kind of let it go. Were pretty healthy eaters for the most part so I'm thinking he will be okay.

    I don't add extra salt to anything for LO and I've cut back on it while cooking. I also don't go way out of my way to check labels on everything.

    Edited to add we have given LO chicken with breadcrumbs a couple times. It's NBD to me as long as its not a routine part of his diet.

    Okay, makes since. I don't use salt anyways so LO won't get any. My grandmother pretty much pours salt all over her food and it drives me nuts.

    older people's taste buds have deteriorated, so they do tend to over salt things as they can not taste things like we can.
