Walkers?

What's the stance on these now? I know they were frowned upon a while back right along with jumpers, but those seem to be making a comeback and are considered OK. I am on the fence about purchasing because most of them have a weight/height limit that LO would soon be reaching. She is in the 98th percentile for height. She can't crawl yet, and I think that would be a fun way for her to get around. The exersaucer is boring her. TIA!

I think stairs were the main issue with the walkers. People just need to use common sense.

Our pedi advised against one because they were seeing a lot of head/neck injuries (whip lash). We won't purchase one for DS because we have too many walls and too much carpet in this house. DD used one, but we had an open concept, one level townhouse.

My mom saved me and my sisters from when we were babies. Ty uses it when he's at their house. I think it's fine for short amounts of time. But I wouldn't have bought one myself.

My pedi said no to walkers so we don't have one. I think it's because of the risk of falling accidents.

We don't have the type of walkers that they sit in/push with their legs, just the push-behind walking toys like these--DS still loves playing with these at almost three, lol! good investments

My pedi said jumpers and walkers for 20 minutes a day. We got both for free off our local mom listserv, but the walker is sitting unused under the crib - it will probably go back into the listserv rotation.

My pedi said he didn't like then because they prolong real walking? I do have one but he doesn't like it. He prefers his jumper.

My pedi said no to the walker and I assumed she meant the walk behind. We have two of them and i just watch Oliver while he's using it. I don't leave his side...not sure how it would really support him completely, anyway.
