NBR: birthday cake...?

So my birthday is tomorrow (hooray. Really not that special, plus my DH has to work, so REALLY nothing will happen.) anyway, my DH was asking what kind of cake I'd like. I kinda love sweets, and all flavors seem appealing to me. I just don't know what cake I should get! Chocolate is always good, but I always get that. Strawberry sounds good too... Or maybe some flavor I haven't thought of? What kind of cake would you ladies get?

    I've done chocolate cake with strawberry frosting and vice versa. Then you literally can have your cake and eat it too. I've also done a chocolate cake with a whipped cream frosting and fresh cut strawberries on tip and between the layers. Yummy.

    Strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream is my favorite!!! Just ate a piece of leftover chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. I love cake!

    This isn't helping, I want all of them. :9 but do keep the suggestions coming, surely I will be able to nail one down!

    also, I live in a small town in central Oklahoma, so my choices are slightly limited, especially on a bit of short notice.

    But my favorite actually to recommend is either dark Forrest cake or, a rich chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and strawberries in between the layers.

    Or! A lemon cake with a lemon cream and a strawberry or raspberry purée in the layers and a light whipped cream frosting.

    Or! A coconut cake with coconut cream and a peach or apricot purée in between the layers.

    Mmmmmmm cake.

    Mmmmm... My sons birthday is Thursday and he's picked strawberry. I'll make a white cake with a strawberry layer in between and strawberry icing with fresh strawberries!

    My mom made a lemon cake yesterday that had lemon frosting and lemon innards.... and it was so friggen good.

    I'd do that or carrot cake.  I love chocolate, but sometimes ya need to mix it up.

    I personally don't ever discriminate against any cake but my favorite is almond cake with raspberry filling and butter cream icing. With ice cream.

    I happen to know for a fact that the Dairy Queen blizzard of the month is funfetti- vanilla soft serve with pieces of cake and frosting.

    Can you tell which cake I'd want? :)

    Me too. I can't even have cake. There are approximately 12 or so cupcakes in my house right now left from DS's party that I cannot eat. It's torture.

    I had a really good key lime cake the other day that had a cream cheese frosting. I want more now!

    Or anything with whipped topping. It's my fave!

    I say thank you to all of you fine ladies! Ultimately I decided on a simple strawberry cake. After all, my SIL's birthday is the 27th, so I get a day to recover from my ultimate gorging on cake today (it's my day, dammit! I will do as I please!) and then I get another shot at delicious cake then! Good thing we are so similar. :9

    My fave cake is the boxed cake from the store but it has to be strawberry with the 'matching' strawberry icing. And now that I answered this I want a damn strawberry cake.
