How many ultrasounds did you have after multiple losses?

I have had two missed miscarriages. I went for my first ultrasound this past Saturday. Measuring on time 6w6d with a heartbeat at 134 and baby is measuring 9 mm. I am asking for a follow up ultrasound in two weeks. Did anyone else request another ultrasound after the first one?

No but initially baby was measuring behind and caught up at subsequent u/s so I had 3 in first tri + NT scan. Doesn't hurt to ask but if everything looked on track they may not oblige.

With my second pregnancy, that ended in mc at 12 weeks, we had several u/s because we kept measuring behind. With my last pregnancy, we had the standard 8, 12, 20 weeks plus weekly u/s from 28-37 with mfm because of a marginal cord insertion. This time, I won't have an u/s til 8 weeks, as long as nothing happens before then!

I had an u/s every 2 weeks throughout the first trimester. My doctor ordered them based on my loss history.

I had one at 6w, 8w, 12w, 14w and the anatomy ultrasound at 19w

The doctor wanted to check regulary how my pregnancy was progressing after my losses.

I had one at 6/8/and11. Then I didn't have one until my anatomy scan. I had two losses before this pregnancy.

I had them at 6, 8, 12, and 20 weeks after 2 losses. If you request one, make sure it'll be covered by insurance. My 8 week was not charged to the insurance; the doctor just did it to relieve my anxiety and see how things were progressing.

I had 1 loss at 11 1/2 weeks.

I had an US at 6 weeks then again at 7 due to spotting, 12, ( I had two NT scans because I was helping the Dr office out to get accredited) 20, 27 ( due to low placenta), next will be 31 and she said that was the last unless any issues. This is not at my OB office so I am not sure if he will have me get more later on.

I am also 40 so not sure how many laides usually have.

I only had one loss, but I'll share my experience anyway (hope no one minds). I had an u/s at 6w2d, 10w3d, 12w (NT scan), and will have ones at least at 15w and 19w (A/S) as those are already scheduled.

Thanks so much everyone! @squiddly one loss is still one loss too many. Thanks for sharing! I'll double check with my insurance to make sure it'll be covered but I think it will be worth it to ease my mind. The nurse told me typically they wouldn't schedule another one but talk to the dr. about it at my next office appt on April 3. So we shall see!

I don't know how all dr's offices are, but it seems after loss, they are very willing to do extra ultrasounds if you request them. I had one at my first appt at 6w and then at 9w bc I was scared after stomach issues. Idk what will happen at my 13w appt, but I think my dr will do one if I ask because he knows my history and my anxiety.

I am now 10 weeks after 2 twin misscarriages and i am having a singleton but i have ultra sounds every two weeks since 6 weeks like a lady mentioned before. Yesterday i saw my doctor and he said i will be sticking to every 2 weeks until i feel comfortable... You can talk to your doctor... That will help you have a piece of mind. Best of luck! I have had way more than a low-risk pregnancy due to an SCH that developed around 20 weeks, but I had one at 6w, 8w, 9w, 11w (twice due to bleeding and NT scan), 20w, 24w, 28w, and I will continue every 4 weeks until this SCH disappears.

I have two prior losses. My RE did a scan at 5w6d and 7w6d. Then when I "graduated" and went to my OB he did a scan at 9w since I was new to his office. I then had the NT scan at 13w3d and next US will be my A/S on 4/14.

I have only had one loss also but I had an u/s at 7weeks, they wanted sooner but I really didn't want it to cause more stress so I pushed to when I felt confident that I wouldn't be left in limbo after. It was a very tough few weeks though. Then nothing until my NT, although I did hear the hb at an ob appt in between and on my doppler. Then I had one at 16 and a/s at 20 but the 16 week is due to being high risk for other factors, without that the a/s would have been my 3rd and last. I now go every 6 weeks to check growth.

I've had 2 early losses (prior to 6 weeks) and only got one ultrasound between the 2 pregnancies in the E.R. due to bleeding. This pregnancy I was seen at 9 weeks for a dating ultrasound, 13 weeks for the n/t scan, 19 weeks for the a/s, 24 weeks for the a/s follow-up because he wouldn't move and his spine was shadowing his heart and I go in next week at 34 weeks because my fundal height is measuring 6 weeks ahead so they want to check his size/my fluid levels.

ETA: The total count so far: 5 this pregnancy.

I was working with an RE so mine is a little different. I have had US done at 5w, 6w, 7w with the RE. Then my OB did one at 9w, and I had my NT scan at 12 weeks. My NT scan came back with low Papp-A so I had a follow up US at 16w which showed an abnormality so I went back at 18w, and my A/S at 20w. Because of the low Papp-A I have monthly growth US done with my MFM, so I've had them done at 24w, and 28w as well. Also due to the low Papp-A I get weekly US done with my OB which started this week.
This is definitely NOT normal and not completely due to my loss history. So, all in all I have had 11 so far, and I will likely have at least 6 more.
