I managed to rear end someone this morning in stop-start traffic. She stopped quicker than i thought and i needed an extra 2 inches (shouldn't have been so close - my bad), so i rolled into the back of her. I just nudged her bumper, but we pulled over and she took my deets anyway. She was civil about it, but there was absolutely no damage whatsoever. I was having such a monday moment, i didn't even take pics. Made sure to take pics of my bumper when i got to work, to show no damage on mine. I hope she's nice about it. I don't see what she can do because there was literally no damage. I guess i learnt my lesson though.

Well, hope this doesn't get me flamed or make me seem like an entitled brat, I know it's pretty hard not to come off that way with this type of annoyance, but here goes:

My mom. She is so freaking cheap. She always has been. Last Wednesday she called me while perusing my registries and made a few comments about how expensive some of the items were. Like I wasn't supposed to register for any one item that costs more than $50. Like people don't either a) spend more than $50 or b) pool together to buy one larger item. Anyways, she hasn't really said what she is going to buy us, so after hearing all these comments on price I asked her what her budget was for her gift to us. It is $50. Sigh.

My parents don't have a ton of money, but they have enough to do something a little more special. It's just that my mom doesn't get it. She doesn't get sharing & generosity. When we go visit and the fam goes out to dinner, of course dad wants to pay, what dad doesn't want to treat his kids to dinner? But my mom is the type who will chastise him (in front of us, while still in the restaurant!) that he shouldn't be buying the meal.

Anyways, it's not about the money part. I can afford to buy whatever I need for my son, shower or not. It's the stinginess, the seeming lack of excitement or feeling of occasion here. It's the fact that this is her grandchild - her first!, and she is acting as if this is just any old baby she needs to pick a gift off the registry for. No "What do you need? We'd like to do something special" nothing. Just "Wow some of these things are expensive. What do you have on there that's $50?"

This paired with the fact that she forgot to tell my grandpa I was pregnant, the fact that she never calls yet complains that I don't call, the fact that she didn't even mention my pregnancy until I brought it up when I saw her over Christmas, yet she claims to be excited? She thinks she's coming down here to stay for a week when the baby is born, yet I have coworkers who have shown more enthusiasm for my kid than she has. I honestly can't tell if she isn't excited or just isn't capable of showing it.

I was running late to work, got behind a school bus (why the f do they stop for each and every child now?), once the bus turned I was behind a slow driver (I don't get why people who drive like assholes decide to buy performance vehicles), she decided to turn so I proceeded to drive past her. I saw an elderly gentleman in the road so I stopped to let him pass, only to have him throw up a hand at me and scream, "Asshole!" while staring at me. Three of the five girls I work with are out sick today, after spending last Thursday and Friday AT work hacking up phlegm and complaining that they felt like death. Fx I don't get sick.

I'm going to get a donut.

@yvanehtnioj - Your mother sounds exactly like my FIL. I mean they sound made for each other. FIL has contributed absolutely nothing to the arrival of this baby and has been the same with both of SIL's children. He's very quick to judge on how they're raised though. Whenever we're struggling, we just go to my dad.

@awc1986 we go to my in-laws for love & support. They are so excited and not afraid to show it. I'm so thankful for that, as I'm sure you are to have your dad.

Grade 9 students. They suck. Mostly it's the ones at the particular school where I worked today. That school has some of the most immature, bratty kids in our system. If I wanted to feel like I was running a kindergarten room every day, I'd have become a kindergarten teacher. No thank you.

The sad thing is, kindergarteners might actually be more cooperative.

I went on a coffee run for my office this morning (I was feeling generous) AND ... got a flat tire. I discovered it leaving the parking lot leaving the coffee place, luckily it's only 2 blocks from my office so I could drive it back as it continued to deflate.

We need to replace our all seasons, but we planning to do that in April with the winter tires came off. Now we're doing it all tomorrow, a couple weeks early to have the winter tires off.

Luckily one of my co-workers was amazing and changed the tire for the spare in my trunk. But now I have to take my car to the shop tomorrow morning, take the bus to work (non-missable work day) and then take it back to the shop after work. It's just the worst timing because my husband's work is across the street from the car place, but he has to work from home tomorrow because there are people coming to fix our leaking basement. It has not been the best winter for us and random EXPENSIVE surprises!! Of all the Tuesdays he can't just drop me off and then drop the car off, it has to be today the tire blows.

Just because people are scaring you into wanting a c-section doesn't mean I want to hear the horror stories or will side with you. I didn't even ask about your damn birth plan. Do what works for you. I've heard nothing but positive stories about vaginal birth, so when I try to ease your mind stop telling me other wise. This is your first as well, we have no clue what's going to happen. But if you choose to believe the horror stories you're hearing, than don't come to me to make you fell better!

@awc1986 we go to my in-laws for love & support. They are so excited and not afraid to show it. I'm so thankful for that, as I'm sure you are to have your dad.

Oh definitely. He's amazing. I'm glad you have the love and support you need from your ILs. It's not about the money. It's about knowing that you can go to someone when you're struggling (financially or otherwise) and that they won't make you justify your position or hesitate about helping you. I know that my daughter will most likely choose go to my dad for help and advice when she's growing up and not my FIL. He's made his bed and he can lie in it.

On the topic of parents not caring about LOs...

My parents were head over heals super crazy excited about DD. They adore that child. This child...ho-hum, who cares! They've barely mentioned the little thing except for my mom to say I'm so much bigger this time and my dad to tell me he can't remember the name we're using. My dad has actually said too that he doesn't know if he can love another grandchild because he loves DD so much. While this is sweet and all for DD, and I'm sure it will change once #2 is actually here, it's a little bit of a bummer.

My mom did send us a package of odds and ends when they moved from their old house recently, and in it there was a blue hat she crocheted with an It's a Boy ribbon. This had me pretty excited, but then after I said thanks to my mom for it, she let me know she had crocheted it when I was pregnant with DD before we knew what we were having. Well then, nevermind!

I believe she is cutting completely because of the kidney stones. Caffeine can make them worse if I remember correctly.

I'm not pleased about this huge, bulging varicose vein that starts in my thigh and winds down to my shin (front and back) where it looks like a massive bruise. It's hideous and I hate it. I have no clue if it will go away after Liam is born, which I find mucho disturbing.

DS was up from 4:30-5:30. I couldn't fall back to sleep until 7 ish. He was up for the day at 7:30-8. He took a decent nap but once I'm up I'm up for the lost part. And nap time is the only chance I get to clean. I had a new sewing machine picked out only to hear a lot of people complain about it jamming. The other one I have picked out is too expensive to get right now so I'll have to save my money up. I need to go to the grocery store but don't feel like it. Maybe we'll put it off until tomorrow when I can go to the chiro too. DS has had some really bad diarrhea (damn teeth) which had caused mega irritation on his butt so now he screams and throws a fit for every diaper change because it clearly hurts. I'm just over it all.

Exactly, it's more because of the stones. I'm a total rebel otherwise. I even have a fingernail of bleu cheese dressing on salads (gasp!!)

I think my brain rearranged the words in those first few sentences the wrong way! That makes sense. I'm sorry about the stones, that cannot be comfortable on top of everything else.

We had my mom's side of the family shower this weekend. It was mostly my mother's aunts and their relatives. My mom organized ( and paid) for the whole thing, and held it 5 hours from her (and my) home at one of my great aunt's country clubs. Said great aunt is a giant bully and waltzes around like she owns the place ordering people to do stuff for her. She is very wealthy but notoriously stingy--for a shower gift she gave me a photo collage frame stuffed with photos of me and my brother as kids (mostly super awkward tween pics) that she pulled out of various albums. Um, thanks? I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but how does that relate at all to the new baby? The last thing I want to do is look at pics of me with braces and giant glasses...

My dad was hit (t-boned) by a drunk driver this weekend. The jerk (I have lot of other words I want to call him) got out of the car and fled the scene leaving my dad unconscious! I am in CA and all my family is in IN and it's KILLING me not to be there! I have been crying on and off all day. My dad's in pretty bad shape but alive and no longer in ICU. He's healthier than I am so he'll make a come back but for right now I wish I could fly there. I wish I could beat up that asshole. I wish that the Midwest was right next to Cali. I just a wreck. Bitchfest over!

Ps. To help you understand how healthy my 60+ year old dad is he ran 32 miles just a couple of hours before the accident training for an ultra marathon.

They split my preps this year and instead of all 12th graders I spend half of my day with 9th grades. They are the WORST. Ugh.

Why is it that perfectly grown, native-English speaking adults need me to explain their email messages to them over a month after they have recieved said email? Did you not see that the deadline for your work clearly reads, "to arrive by March 22nd"? Or the part about it being "required"? Did you not understand this when I sent you the request on February 13th?

Your inability to read and process a simple request is not my problem, so stop calling me and asking me "how bad it is" or "if it should be overnighted". Because you took to the very end to work on your project (which you told me was complete on Feb. 14th), you can have the stress of dealing with this. Figure it out yourself. "Not my circus. Not my monkeys."

My Monday bitch, the fact that my uterus feels like Thing from the fantastic four from time to time (rock hard). I can't sit in my cushy office chair cause I'm uncomfortable and I can't sit on my exercise ball because I'm uncomfortable. I need to lay down but hunkering down under my office desk does not seem to be an option. This day needs to pass by faster because waddling down the hallway at the pace of a snail is unacceptable.

I attempted to schedule my c-section and hernia repair today and found out that my surgeon for the hernia repair no longer does surgeries at the hospital that I will deliver at. I now have 6 weeks to find a surgeon, get records transferred, and beg him to show up on c-section day... UGH!

I was already running late this morning. Dd wasn't at school 5 minutes before admin called me about her red puffy allergy eyes. Late to work, my kindergarteners are trying to kill me. They were super crazy today. Lunch sucked. DD's school called again around 2 to tell me she had a terrible day and was being very aggressive. She had even swung at her teacher because she was mad. (dd is 3 btw). An incident report was filed and sent home. Had an OB appt. LO is head down and measuring on target. I was with the OB maybe 5 minutes. She's nice but certainly not warm and fuzzy. I've already given them $1300 but still haven't met my deductible so I had to pay another $70 today. DD is refusing to go to sleep and I am totally exhausted. Is it really only Monday?

Thank you all who sent wishes both for my dad and that they would catch the guy. I got to facetime with my dad tonight and that made all the difference in the world! Technology is amazing. They did find the bleeping SOB and arrested him. And my mom already called a lawyer.

I have to say my mom is awesome. They asked for a private room at the hospital and the hospital told them it would cost more. Her response, "Oh the drunk guy is paying for it." My mom rules!

Last sunday mil said she was throwing me another shower 10 days before my due date cause she missed the one I had back in Feb. I told her it was scheduled so early so I would not have to travel later in pregnancy and that there is no way in hell I am traveling 2hrs at 38.5 weeks and to just schedule it for after the baby is born. Especially since she wants to invite people who actually came to the other shower or sent gifts. I feel inviting them to another shower is rude but if it is after the birth then it can just be a chance for them to come see her. Today she called me for addresses of my friends and family and I told her again I would rather it be after the birth but she refuses to change it. I got so upset I was even crying on the phone and she just said it'd be fine maybe it'll send me in to labor. Hello that is one concern! I don't want to have to travel 2 hrs when a 30 min drive causes me horrible pain then sit through a party with people I don't know causing even more pain then if I go into labor have to pack all the Crap people buy us then drive 1.5 hrs back to the hospital. I mean how the fuck does that seem fun? And god forbid there be a complication while we are driving all the way back. I am 34w tomorrow and in horrible pain every day just doing chores around the house forget in a month with a car trip and other stress. I called DH after in tears and told him I am going to tell her the Dr put me on bedrest even if he doesn't cause I am not going anywhere else til this kid is born! I don't want to seem ungrateful but please just do it a couple weeks later!!

Glad to hear this. Rest assured that this guy has just ruined his own life. Drunk hit & run? Yeah good luck getting a job, mortgage etc when you get out of jail. I hope your dad makes a full and fast recovery.

1) stupid dog wakes me up at 5am to be let out. I wait for DH to hear her. Nope. Thirty minutes later, I nudge DH to let her out. It takes him 15 minutes to get her inside and all I hear us the alarm going off every time he opens the door.

2) at 730a, the cat starts crying at the door to be let in the bedroom. Finally let him in and he proceeds to jump on us all morning.

3) other cat, who got shut in the office due to his morning noise and inability to just sleep with us, pooped in the office.

4) customer complaint about wait times being longer than 10 minutes. Oh, that we lied about something. Um no, I talked to her and so I would have the one to lie. And I didn't.

5) I was eating dinner at work, when an employee tells me she can't find something for a customer. I tell her how to find it and continue eating. She just stood there looking at me instead of just doing it. So I shoved the rest of my food in my mouth to find it. It literally took me 2 seconds to find it. I really don't understand how it is difficult to function without me for the 5 minutes it takes me to inhale sustenance. Really?

Hoping today is less annoying.
