STM+: Cute things your kids are doing?

DD is refusing to nap (again).  Cheer me up.

Yesterday when I finally gave up and got her out of her crib, I just couldn't hold it back and started crying.  We've been through 17 months of nothing but sleep troubles, so I'm a little more emotional about these things than most.  Anyway, she sees me crying and just starts saying, "Sad.  Sad.  Sad.  Sad."  It was funny but, well, sad.

She has also started walking around saying something that sounds exactly like "fuck."  She'll just repeat it over and over.  Not sure what she's actually trying to say, but it ought to be embarrassing in public.  She also says that the duck says "cock."  For some reason, she always whispers that one.

So what funny new things are your kids up to?

  • DS now says that everything "Hurts" his pants that are too big he will point to the waist and say "it hurts" then I say "Does it really hurt?" and he says "no" and laughs. It is cute and funny but gets old after 10 times a day.

My DS started asking why do I have to go to work.  So I told him so he could have toys and money for food, etc.

One morning he asked me to stay in bed for 5 more minutes with him because he comes  in our bed in the morning(melted right away with that).  then the convo went:

DS - I go to work mommy

Me - where do you work

    DS  - in Baltimore

Me - oh what do you do

DS - I make the money...then I go in the shower put the money in and it goes down the drain.

He absorbs way to much my DS

Also now he comes up next to me hugs my head with his arm and says 'I love you sooooo much'

  • She is now obsessed with balloons, thanks to DH.  I told him he created a monster, and will now prob be required to bring her a balloon once a week.  Everything she does is now one-handed.  Balloon is ALWAYS in the other hand.

haha my DD loves balloons too!  She got one at Friendly's the other day and she loves it.  I fear for when it pops or deflates.  I might be buying more.  lol  She's so cute with it and I love the way she says "balloon"

  • DS tells me "I can't like it" about anything he doesn't want to do at the time:

Put your pants back on boy!
    I can't, I can't like my pants.
    Go sit on the couch!
    I can't like the couch.
    Give me a kiss.
    No, I can't like it.

There was even a day that there was a stinkbug crawling on his crib, and when I walked in to discover it, I got a "no bug mom, I can't like that bug"
I told him it wasn't necessary to like it.

  • DD is obsessed with bellybuttons. Hers, mine, DH's, and anyone else's who gets close enough. She'll sit next to me on the couch, put her head on my shoulder, pull up my shirt and stick her finger in my bellybutton. No idea what's going on there. I did stop her from sticking her tongue in there. That's not gonna happen.
  • I bet in some countries the duck does say "cock"! Too cute. My DD always says that the duck says "duck." Girl just can't seem to get quacking down.

  • Yesterday LO (1 year on Saturday!) learned how to put a toy basketball through a toy "hoop" that we have in the living room.  He was insanely proud of himself.  It is adorable.

  • My husband taught my 17 month old DD where her butt is just because he thought it was funny. Now she goes around to everyone and pays their butt yelling "BUTT!!!" And then runs away laughing

My DD has learned to say please. Now whenever she wants something it's "peas peas peas peas" over and over all day long. She also insists on dancing naked in front of the mirror after every bath. Thanks for teaching that to her, grandma.

When I came home from work last Friday my 3 year old had all of his toys is boxes. When I asked him why he informed me he was moving out with sweet heart.  That would be his pretend wife (I wasn't even invited to the wedding!!!) who also happens to be the good catwoman. And their baby. Who is eleven.

I feel like we missed some steps in the last few years.

  • We're teaching DS nice touch and hugs and kisses.  We went to a party the other night and he was hugging the older girls then he would look up at them and try to give them kisses too.  It was adorable.

  • These are all so funny!  I can't wait for DD to get a little older and be able to communicate more of the imaginative and crazy stuff I'm sure is in her head.
  • Whenever I would get sick with this pregnancy, my DD would run and get her doctor'a kit and take care or me :)
  • My 2 year old loves to pull up my shirt so he can "see the baby", it is super cute because he hugs and kisses my belly but sometimes awkward when we're in public and I'm wearing a dress!
  • He has started telling stories. We were singing "Farmer in the Dell" the other day and I said, "What does the mouse do with the cheese?" He replied, "The mouse go to the store, get cheese, take it to the park, run around, come home and go night-night".

He has also started coming up with excuses for his naughty behavior. We watch Super Why a lot, and the characters in the book always say, "I have to do XYZ, it's in my story". So now whenever I give him a direction, he says, "I can't give wallet to Mama. It's in my story." It's too adorable and clever to make me angry...yet.

  • Whenever DD asks for something and we say no, she tries to demand it in this deep zombie voice. It's hilarious, like changing her voice will change our answer.

  • DS2 is 2y4m and is like a mini Chris Farley. He will flip fall, roll, jump and so on just for his own entertainment. He's nuts! But its hilarious! He also reenacts the karate kid crane kick and the Rocky speed bag punching scenes. He's attempted the push ups as well. None of this is coached! He's a ham and loves being funny.
