I had posted the question in this board, and also the one for November due dates, and someone was rude about it... I'm nervous enough about everything, and comments like that don't help.. so I just deleted it.
The time for the first appointment depends on the doctor, doctor's office, and your history. I had a miscarriage in November and some spotting around 4 weeks, so I went for my first appointment at 6.5 weeks. Otherwise it would have been 8-10 weeks at my office, and I've heard of other women not going for an appointment until 12 weeks.
My appointment is at 7 weeks (tomorrow, actually super excited!). My doctor wanted to see me sooner, but scheduling on my end was not super flexible. My last pregnancy, my daughter had a very severe chromosomal problem and we ended up choosing to terminate. Though it was not genetic, they are wanting to watch this pregnancy more closely, hence he earlier appointment.
I don't see any rude responses here. You need a thicker skin if you're going to stick around on TB.
This. But to answer your question, I was seen at 13 weeks (which we actually thought I was 12 weeks). It's pretty common to be seen any time between 8-12 weeks. Just depends on the dr and location.
I called my ob when i found out I was pregnant and she had me come in a few days later (I was about 5 w 5 d). I had high blood pressure that appointment because I was nervous and excited. I had to go back in a week to get it checked again and it was fine. During my first appointment my ob scheduled me at 12 weeks for my next appointment. But at my blood pressure check appointment my dr. scheduled me to come in at 8 weeks to hear a heart beat. We go in Thurs for that. Then again April 21.
