  There's a good chance that you'll sound like a bitchy know it all, but it couldn't hurt to say something anyway. I figure that even if the first person who says something sounds bitchy, by the time the second or third person says it, they might be more willing to listen.

  If you do decide to say something, flank the critique with compliments. You may still offend, but the offense might be taken easier if you throw in lots of compliments.

  I agree. Compliment about how awesome she is that she wants to babywear, but mention how the BB are not good for their hips. Maybe mention a better carrier that she might be interested in as an alternative.

  Wearing your baby in a Bjorn is not child abuse... They are using it in the way it was intended and manufactured. There is only speculation that wearing out facing hurts baby's hips. The only science-based research suggests that babies who have congenital hip dysplasia shouldn't baby wear in the "crotch dangler" type baby carriers. But even those studies don't suggest that wearing babies without hip dysplasia in bjorns will cause any sort of hip problems.
  
  Our parents' generation all used Bjorn type carriers and there was no higher incidence of hip dysplasia than in previous generations before they had those types of baby carriers.
  
  So, I definitely wouldn't say anything.

  I'm an Ergo lover. But seriously MYOB. The baby wasn't being harmed. In fact, it's probably getting A LOT more benefits being up close to its parent than buckled in a carseat and toted around.

  Using a Bjorn isn't a huge deal, but wearing a 3week old facing out is not good. If it was a super close friend I would say something about baby being too young to face out. But an acquaintance I would be more likely to mind my own business.

  After almost 3 years of IF and a crazy roadside delivery, we are loving life with our second beautiful daughter!

  @*blue*flower* That was really my issue. The baby just seems really young to be facing out. I know her well enough to say something and I don't think she would get offended. She is fairly young and this was an unplanned pregnancy so she has asked me for advice on other things.

  In that case I would definitely say something! Use the compliment, advice, compliment format. Be gentle with the advice, but I think it would be a good thing in this case! Good luck!

  I wouldn't say anything. The baby isn't in imminent danger. So, I would keep quiet unless I was cool with possibly loosing this person as a friend for butting in and being a know-it-all.
