1. How many weeks along are you?
2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results etc)?
3. How are you feeling lately?
4. QOTW: what worked for you in getting pregnant this time? If you were seeing an RE, do you plan to send them a birth announcement or gift when LO arrives?

Re: **2IF Grad Check-In**

  • 1. 10 weeks!
    2. I have an ultrasound on Friday and can't wait! It will be a long week!
    3. Feeling ok today. Had some stomach pain last week and it freaked me out but OB said it sounded like indigestion.
    4. I took a round of clomid, a trigger shot, and estrace and progesterone the month I got pregnant. I had a great experience with my RE and plan to send him and his staff a couple of cookie bouquets (unless I can think of a better idea) when LO is born.

  • I'm 35 weeks, and doing pretty good.  Some days I'm more tired/uncomfortable than others though.  I've just started to notice mild swelling in my feet and hands the past few days.  I'm checking my BP at home every day, and it's been fine, thank goodness.  We start our weekly appointments this week, and I will possibly get an u/s this week to see how baby is positioned.  My normal OB does an u/s at 36 weeks (rather than trying to figure out position by palpation), but she won't be in the office and I'm not sure if the other OB will or not.

QOTW:  We were a surprise BFP, so nothing the RE did helped us.  We had given up after 2 1/2 years of trying, 3 losses, 6 months of Letrozole, a couple of IUIs, AMA, and an RE that wasn't hopeful at all.  In fact, he was a class A jerk really, and the worst RE ever from what I read about REs from all of you ladies.  He did zero testing at our first appointment (no thyroid, no SA, no genetic testing, nothing), just put me directly onto Letrozole without even trying to figure out if there was a problem other than my age.  And when, over time, we started asking him to please test this or that, he got defensive about it.  He was part of our HMO so we were stuck with him financially, unfortunately.  At least it worked out for us in the end!  And, no, he won't be getting a gift from us!!

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm!
Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!
    Baby is due 4/26/14

  • 1. 10w4d. I don't know when I am going to stop counting the days :)

    2. Last US this afternoon, until the anatomy scan. I am nervous, of course, but I don't have any reason to believe this pregnancy isn't going well.

    3. Still having nausea, but not as often. Sore boobs, but not as sore. I have a cold or allergies right now and that is my main symptom. I can't breathe through my nose, my OB doesn't allow decongestants in first tri. I tried some Benadryl and all that did was knock me out, apparently I was snoring SUPER loud, according to DH :)

    4. I feel guilty saying this, but we were completely unmedicated the cycle we got pregnant. I was even off Metformin. It was my second cycle post D&C and I wasn't really paying attention. It took 20+ cycles plus metformin to get our last pg that ended in MC so I figured our chances were SO small.

    DD 12/1/2009
    TTC#2 Since May 2012
Dx PCOS February 2013 on Metformin 1500 mg
Met with RE October 2013, we've got a plan!
Surprise BFP on "break cycle" 10/12/13. EDD 6/17/14.
    MMC discovered 11/25/13 at 10 weeks. D&C 11/27/13.
    BFP 2/8/14 Beta#1: 176, Prog 18! Beta#2:335, Prog, 19.5!

    1.  9w4d @cerad5 I'm with you and holding onto the days for now.  Maybe in 2nd trimester I'll let it go. :)

    2.  Nope, next appointment is one week from today.  My doppler showed that baby still had a heartbeat four days ago, and I plan to try again this week since my loss milestone is likely today or tomorrow (missed miscarriage, so I'm judging by the approximate size angel baby was measuring).

    3.  I'm feeling pretty good actually.  Nausea isn't abundant anymore, and fatigue has gotten progressively better over the past few weeks.

    4.  I was just doing herbal mumbo jumbo and supplements, so no RE gifts necessary.

ETA, I have no idea why my @cerad5 tag didn't work.

    November 2010 - 10.5 week loss  o:)
    October 2011 - DS (7)  <3
    July 2014 - Stillborn DD (24 weeks)  o:)
    August 2015 - DD (3)  <3
    April 2018 - 5 week loss o:)

  • 1. How many weeks along are you? 34 weeks, 4 days. @cerad5, I still count days, too. :)
    2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results etc)? Last appointment was on Wednesday. My doctor is keeping an eye out for pre-e (sorry if I'm repeating myself. I can't remember if I've said this already...) because of swelling and elevated blood pressure. @tryingyetagain, I'm checking my blood pressure, too. Sounds like we are very similar in our situations. :)
    3. How are you feeling lately? I'm getting pretty tired and uncomfortable. Some days are better than others. Work has been stressful to say the least. OB wants me to stop working, but I can't just yet. We have open house on Friday and I teach 2nd grade at a Catholic school so I feel a serious urgency to stay until Holy Week to prep  my kids for First Holy Communion. I'm going to go day by day.
    4. QOTW: what worked for you in getting pregnant this time? If you were seeing an RE, do you plan to send them a birth announcement or gift when LO arrives?
We were successful in our 2nd Follistim+Ovidrel+IUI attempt. I think acupuncture also helped regulate my cycles and move my O day up (which ultimately didn't make a difference with the trigger in the IUI...). I also had a big change in my mental state. I started to see each BFN as a step in the right direction instead of losing hope.
I really want to get my RE a gift. I love her and the two girls in the office! I think a fruit basket or some sort of treats once baby arrives will be great. I also will send an announcement. I'll be stopping by the office again in the near future to drop off my leftover Follistim, but I've procrastinated because I don't want to go in with my big belly. I keep asking them if it's okay and they say yes.

  • Lclofreddo - love the ultrasound picture! Hang in there with everything!
  • 1. How many weeks along are you?
20 weeks today! Half baked :) Actually more than that since my RCS will be at 39 weeks.
    2. Any medical updates (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results etc)?
Next appt and anatomy scan coming up on April 3rd.
    3. How are you feeling lately?
    Feeling pretty well. Can't complain!
    4. QOTW: what worked for you in getting pregnant this time? If you were seeing an RE, do you plan to send them a birth announcement or gift when LO arrives?
We were VERY fortunate to get pregnant our first round on Femara+ trigger shot + progesterone. My RE and his nurses were awesome, but I wasn't there very long so I'm not sure if they would even remember me! I will probably just send a birth announcement.

Hi ladies! Thanks for the check in! >:D<

My due date is 11/23 and team green. Like with my son we won't be finding out what we are having ahead of time.

    Currently 5 weeks and 3 days :-)
have my 3rd beta in Friday. It's 12 days after my 2nd due to my work schedule, then 1st ultrasound a week and a half after that.

Feeling fine, was very tired but that seems to have passed mostly.

QOTD: last time got pregnant with IVF RISCI and AH, this time through IVF ISCI and eSET. Not sure what I'll do for the RE if we make it to term. They have told us we should drop by with our son so they can meet him but don't feel right by brining him to the waiting room. I remember the dark days of primary infertility too well. Maybe some photos and cupcakes or something?

  • I'm 22.5 weeks and doing good. I did have an "emergency" appointment on Monday with my OB after experiencing A LOT of pressure and consistant BH contractions over the weekend. My OB was concerned since DD was early and wanted to just double check my cervix. Everything looked great though. Cervix was long and closed so I was given instructions to take it easy and keep my appointment next week as a follow up.

On the plus side they were able to get the remaining heart measurements they weren't able to get at the AS and everything looked great with baby too. The partial placenta previa didn't look as bad on the cervical measurement ultrasound either but it really hasn't moved much either.

QOTW: We had a much longer/crazier journey this time around with our RE than we did when trying for DD. With DD we were successful with our second IUI and this time around we did several IUIs, Laproscopy and 5 fresh IVF cycles (one of which was a clinical trial). We spent almost 22 months consistently with our RE and his staff and definitely were very close. I sent an announcement when DD was born (they actually ask that you do) and its so cute because its still in my chart :) so I will definitely send one this time too. My RE was also one of the first people to call and congratulate us after DD was born. We didn't send a gift the first time but this time we are definitely thinking about it. Probably bagels or cookies or something like that for the staff after the baby arrives.

  • 1. How many weeks along are you?

    13 weeks 5 days

    2. Any medical updates
    (appointments, ultrasounds, tests/results etc)?

Saturday is the 4D scan, April 2nd is my next OB

    3. How are you feeling lately?

Braxton hicks have settled in early but other than that I'm just tired... Still a little nauseous from time to time.

    4. QOTW: what worked for you in getting pregnant this time? If you were seeing an RE, do you plan to send them a birth announcement or gift when LO arrives?

I have no idea what worked, I was scheduled to do a polyp removal surgery and my husband was about to deploy, we had decided that our next OB apt would be our last and were planning to find an RE...right before he left we got a natural BFP. Total shock lol but we were thrilled :-)
