Good vibes, please!

Tomorrow is tube day!  Yes, I know it's a common, easy and fast procedure.  But they've never put tubes in MY child's ears so I'm going to worry anyway.  She goes in at 9:15 and can't have anything but clear liquid from midnight tonight until 5:15 tomorrow morning.  That's going to suck.  So, please send your positive thoughts, prayers, good vibes, or whatever you're into our way.  Thanks!!

  • Hows she doing

  • She did awesome! Didn't fuss too much beforehand but then i did give her a small bottle this morning and some juice shortly after i was supposed to. You can't really expect a baby to understand why you have to starve them. Anyway, she's currently snoozing in her swing. Wish there was room in there for me, too.
  • glad she did so well and that it went well!

  • The first anesthesia is so hard (on mom)! Glad she did well...just think how blissful life will be with sleepfull nights now that those ears are in tip top shape!
  • She actually sleeps great.  Once in awhile she will wake up in the middle of the night grunting for a bottle but usually goes back to sleep.  She crashed on the couch before 7:30 last night but was a little monster during her awake hours.  She went for everything she knows she's not supposed to get into.  It's like she knew she wouldn't get in that much trouble yesterday because she had surgery or something.
  • @tig594 - why did she need tubes? It wasn't from ear infections? My DS1 would be up crying all hours of the night from chronic ear infections...I remember that like it was yesterday.
  • Yes, she had 4 ear infections through 9 months.  That last 3 were back to back.  She hasn't had one in about 2 months (since she first saw the ENT) but she had a lot of fluid in her ears that prevented her ear drums from vibrating.  It was all over her gurney in the hospital after surgery.  I was like "Is that ear fluid!!!"  So gross.
  • How old is she?
My son, in addition to the ear infections, had chronic fluid too. It was amazing that by 2 he was barely talking at all. Then 3 months after the tubes went in he started talking a ton. I couldn't believe what a difference the tubes made in his speech.
  • Happy it all went well and hope she is doing better now
  • She will be one this week.
  • Omg! Shes getting so big tig!
