I had let my employer know well before my leave that I was going to breastfeed and would need a space to express milk. I ended up extending my leave by a couple of weeks for several reasons. When I came back, they were not prepared, the first day our HR person was out so I used her office, she had told me I could use the building next door (which is a pain but I was willing to make it work) then there have been numerous excuses as to why I couldn't use that building, so I asked if I could have a curtain and use the vacant office near my desk, I have pumped in a bathroom way more than in a private place... I am frustrated... And now I get an email that says I can no longer use that office because my new manager (long story- they have my promotion away while I was on leave that had already been given to me sometime ago). Needless to say, I am not pleased. I sent HR the email I received that the office would no longer be available to me asking where I am allowed to go. I live 2 blocks away... If they can't come up with an acceptable place by EOB Monday, I am tempted to tell them I am working from home until they figure it out... I have been back 2 weeks and concerned that the inconsistency in my ability to find a place to pump when needed and pushing it off will adversely affect my supply. Mostly I am venting, but should I lodge a complaint if they can't come up with a suitable environment? How much time should I give them to comply since I already let them know before my leave. I have tried to be flexible but now I am just angry.
