Their back!

Those stupid food aversions from first trimester are back!! Am I the only one experiencing this? I have yet to find one food that is currently appealing! Some things I can tolerate and others I can even think about without wanting to barf!

Eta: I am 23 weeks and 4 days.

  • Wow! Didn't know that grammar police were out tonight. Sorry about my grammar stupidity.
  • In answer to your question, though, I have my days where I feel kind of sickly like that. There's nothing worse than being extremely hungry and nothing sounding good. One of my major issues is that I pretty much only want the home-cooked, savory foods but I'm too tired/lazy to cook them. ;)

  • Yeah. I prepared a healthy salad with chicken for dinner and threw it out because it was making me gag.

I was talking about it with my sister and we concluded you just never feel great in pregnancy. Even when you're having good days and feel fine, you don't really realize that you didn't feel 100% until you're no longer pregnant.
(obviously not the case for everyone, but for us it's true. I've never really been SICK but I can't say I've felt 100% any day so far).
  • I hope mine don't come back, I've only just been able to start eating fruit again.

  • I have good days and bad days. As a PP said, even the good days aren't great.

  • I have a couple that haven't gone away. I still can't really eat eggs, or lunch meat. I'm really hoping ill get my taste for them back at some point.

I also have the issue that pretty much every food I have a craving for I can't eat because of the GD.

Though I totally agree with @LeaLupins I don't think I've really felt good since before I got pregnant.

I don't think mine really went away.  :/

I have been craving really good movie theater popcorn.  Tonight we went to the movies -- and their popcorn was so yucky (which I expected from that overpriced theater anyway) that it turned me.  My sweet daughter, age 11, also went to the movies today, but at the $2.00 theater with the really good popcorn.  She came home with a "gift" for me -- but now I don't want it anymore.  What a disappointment.  I'm trying not to crave anything else for fear that when I get it, it will be yucky in the end.

  • Food doesn't make me sick really, but some of it I just don't want at all. I don't care right now if I eat another vegetable ever again. I loved fruit during the first trimester, but that love affair has ended. I'm getting a little excited for summer because that means cherries and watermelon, but that's it. Coffee was tasting good again for a little while, but that got gross again. DH was drinking some in the car the other day and I wanted to barf from the smell.

  • Mine last the entire pregnancy.  Really sucks when Chocolate is one of the items that makes me sick :(

Improper use of they're/their/there and its/it's is probably one of my top three pet peeves. I'm sorry you are feeling bad, OP. I haven't felt great today either.
I am totally not a grammar police type person, but I agree with this!  They're/Their/There is such a basic thing (and the words all mean something very different) that seeing "Their back!" is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

On the food aversions note, I don't feel like I've had super strong cravings or aversions, but when I had bad morning sickness for the first 15 weeks or so, I could basically only stand carbs and cheese, and occasionally now I have days where that is all I want and the thought of vegetables or meat makes me want to barf.  But it usually only lasts for a day or so and then I'm back to being willing to eat other foods again.

  • Mine never left. Still have ungodly aversions to food and smells and get sick super fast. I just want to feel "normal" for once! DS is super picky. Lol. My 3 DDs never gave me this bad of a hard time.

I have to concur with the they're sentiment. I just can't stand poor grammar, sorry.

But, in answer to your question, yes! Not so much aversions as the nausea has come back! Out of nowhere! My OB said it's normal, but seriously? I just assume I'm getting kicked in the stomach, too, which doesn't help either. Not sure how I'm supposed to keep my sugars in check when I can't eat. Good times.

Can I please add your/you're ? What do people not get about "You are"?!

  • All I want to eat is fresh fruits and veggies. Meat sounds gross but have been trying to eat some to keep up on protein.
