Father's Day gift for DH?

I know it's still early, but I was wondering if anyone has thought about what you will get for your hubby/partner for his very first Father's Day if your LO arrives before that day this year? I'm due June 3rd so our baby boy should be here before Father's Day. I really want to get DH something special :-)

I'm due May 30 but I can't imagine I'll have time to think of anything special and its pretty low on my priority list. I'll probably just get him a Cookiepuss cake from Carvel because he loves that ish and I'll get to enjoy it too. Win-win.

If I'm feeling extra motivated maybe I'll frame a pic of the baby for his office.

Typically I have been buying hubby a really nice bottle of scotch. He likes it, it's easy, and I would rather spend money on something I know for sure he will like instead of something that is *cute* but will be on a shelf then a closet and just take up space and collect dust.

DH's first father's day I got him a plague from C and I that read "I love you more than bacon". He's a bacon lover, so it had meaning

. This year, I have no idea, and I don't remember what I did last year, either. He's getting a baby, he should be happy with that, lol. At the very least, C will make him a card of some sort at daycare.

I'm due the 11th and Father's Day is the 15th sooo idk. I want to get him something special but it needs to be something I can do in May. And not crap. I hate kitschy crap.

I plan on spelling out LOVE with the babies foot/hand prints on a canvas to hang in our home as well as getting him some fancy shaving stuff (he uses the old-timey razors).

I am due on Father's Day, so he's probably getting a baby. But I'll probably buy him some new shoes because he needs them. I'll make a card with DD for him as well.

In 2011, DD was born Saturday night at 10:29 and Father's Day was the next day. I told him I could never top that gift, but I might actually repeat it this year!

What's your logic here? I'm just curious. My understanding is that your baby has something like a 5% chance of coming on the due date, and then equal likelihood of coming after or before. My due date is June 11, but I figure I have as much of a chance of having her by June 20th as by June 1st.

He's getting a son. Depending on my energy and if the baby comes before Fathers Day or if he's late I will probably frame a picture for his desk.

I'm thinking maybe a nice card written out "from" baby seeing as I'm due after Father's day. DH's birthday is 4 days after our due date so he's a little pouty about "missing" his birthday so I'll try to get something awesome together before baby gets here for that instead of father's day.

@wtfisup - No real logic, but what are the odds of being due on Father's Day? And so close to DD's birthday. I actually think I'm going to go early like I did last time - 39 weeks. I'm more worried about going late and being in the hospital for DD's birthday (June 18).

He's getting a new baby. I lucked out because in 2010 he got a new baby for his birthday!

We don't normally do anything special for these days.

oh @Narwhalicorns‌ that just made me realize I can get out of getting DH a birthday present this year! my csection is a week after his birthday and a little over a week before Father's Day so he gets a baby for both. he hates everything I ever get him anyways

I'm due June 7th, and realistically, I will probably look at him and say, "Happy Father's Day! I got you a son to carry on the family name!"

Lol you guys are funny! I guess, yeah, that's true I am giving him a child lol :-) He is just always so thoughtful with gifts and I didn't even get him a wedding gift 2 yrs ago (I know I'm bad!) so I wanted something sweet and "manly" honestly I don't know so that's why I was hoping for some ideas. But yeah, realistically he may just get the baby ha ha. And it is a boy and our first, so the name lives on, that is a good one!

And I didn't realize there was already a thread when I did the search on my phone I didn't pull it up, my bad!

I think I'll try to find a cute onesie that says something about dad and then I'll hand him the baby haha that is actually a good idea! My DH likes to grill so maybe "future grill master" or "grill master in training" or something! Problem solved! Thanks!!! Lol

I had some Groupon bucks and nothing to spend them on, so I saw this portable cooler in Nebraska Huskers and thought DH would like it. I love giving gifts, and since I am due on June 1, I wanted to get him something for his first Father's Day! I shipped it to my parents house and I will just fill it with some fancy summerish beers when the time comes. He will love it!

We have a 4 year old so I will probably incorporate something that includes both boys in the present. I've been dealing with PTL recently (I am 27 weeks) so if I am even still pregnant by June 1st it will be a miracle.

We are due June 16 so I am hoping baby is here before Father's Day... I am going to get the baby some Penn State gear for my hubby:) he is still obsessed with his alma mater even though he graduated a million years ago:)

I am thinking about getting him a set of cuff links and maybe a tie bar with the baby's birthdate engraved. My husband wears suits to work every day so I know he would use it and he is also a sentimental sap so I definitely want to get him something for his first father's day.

Now that I type this out though I am wondering if I stumbled into the 1950s? It really seems like a old-fashioned gift.

ETA: I am due the 14th, and obviously who the hell knows when baby will actually be here, but I probably will not be able to order ahead- any suggestions on how to make this work? A card with a picture of the gift? That is not much fun, huh?

I've done a picture of the gift before when it didn't arrive on time and my hubby was just as excited so I think u can totally do that!
