Shortened cervix

I am 31 weeks and apparently my cervix has shortened even in the last few days. Have an appointment with the MFM at the hospital on Monday. Any advice in what to expect? I've had an extremely healthy pregnancy otherwise. Thanks in advance!

    How short? Some shortening is natural at this point of pregnancy.

    I'd make sure they check the length with transvaginal ultrasound on Monday.
    Married 8/2008. IVF with PGD March 2013.
    3/22 ER: 25R, 20M, 15F. 9 genetically normal, and 3 survived to Day 5
    3/27 ET: transferred 1 embryo, beta 9dp5dt=163, 12dp5dt=639
    4/25 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks = identical twins with heartbeats?!!!
    PPROM at 31w, delivery at 32 weeks of two beautiful girls

    The last time my measurement came back short (27 weeks) my OB wasn't too worried.  He said, "Of course she is measuring short!  She is having twins!"  I won't be checked until my next appointment in 2 weeks.  The midwife (yesterday) told me she didn't want to stir tings up for me by checking.  Right, wrong or indifferent - it put me at ease.

    We'll I'm not certain how short and I thought that they would stop checking at 32 weeks. I'll post when I have more info but my thoughts were the same- I have 6lbs plus of baby pressing down!!
