First of all, does his Amoxicillin say 400 mg/5 ml on the bottle? If so, maybe my math is wrong but he may be getting too much medicine. Can you call the Pharmacy to double check?
Even if I round him to 21 pounds, that's 9.5 kg. Ear infections dose is 90 mg/kg so he should be getting 860 mg a day or 430 mg twice a day. Amox is 400 mg per 5 ml so he should be getting just over 5 ml twice a day. Hmm...
He should be peeing at least 4 times a day. How many diarrhea diapers is he having? I'd try to get him some pedialyte. Don't worry about doing solids if he doesn't seem interested. His appetite will pick back up when he's better. I'm betting its the Amox giving him diarrhea and making his tummy feel wonky. Keep doing the probiotic. That'll help.
