I hate doing laundry...except for when its adorable newborn clothes and cloth diapers. I currently have 3 baskets of my own clean laundry to put away....that is all hope you all have a great Sunday!
Laundry is one of my least favorite chores. I just finished all of our baby laundry and, despite how cute everything is, laundry is laundry to me. Probably because 3rd tri has sucked all the energy from me.
I've been doing a bit of baby stuff with each of our loads. I need to iron this afternoon (I hate ironing), so I might iron some of her bits to make it more fun.

I did mine in two loads after my first shower and a friend donated a crap-ton of clothes. It was definitely way more fun than other laundry. After my next shower in two weeks it will be fun again cause it's all new.
I've been trying to keep up with the baby laundry, but it seems like every time I think I'm done more stuff pops up. I didn't even think to wash the containment stuffs like the rock n plays or the vibrating chair stuffs. Is anyone else washing all of that? I may never finish baby laundry!! Having clothes and blankets and towels and all for two babies is crazy! Especially when you have some girl stuff and some boy stuff. Almost all of their clothes are hand me downs or I would have just bought gender neutral stuff. My own laundry sits untouched though. Something about looking at cute baby stuff makes it easier to wash. I hope it's the same when they're using all these clothes!
I seriously could have written this thread and most of the responses! Just had our shower yesterday and now all I want to do is go through and get everything set up, RIGHT NOW! Meanwhile, I have a sink full of dishes, a crap load of my own laundry, and a few misc. organizing projects to do first. Crap.
I'm also curious about washing all the chair/car seat/swing stuffs. Can anyone share their theory on that? Mine is that one or all of those things will need to be washed within the first week or two due to spit up or poop anyway. And very little if any of it will be touching the baby's skin directly. So is pre-washing really necessary?

We had our shower yesterday and it was all I could do to not start laundry immediately after everyone left. I held out until today, but then was forced to go through and resort everything that we already had to make room for new stuff.
(More accurately, I just wanted to go through all the cute clothes and see them again )
I'm not bothering with the car seat or bouncer or anything like that. I'm washing a "hop & bop" bouncer insert because it was given to me by SIL and needs washing after her 2 boys have used it for 3 years.

I've done all baby laundry but it's the toddler, husband, and my own that's killing me! In fact, since I'm on bed rest today I've just been sitting in the bed folding tons and tons of clothes and towels.
I was washing and drying all our new baby clothes/stuff last night. I just came off bed rest and immediately start carrying baskets around of adorable baby stuff. DH comes and takes the basket from me and says "Why are you doing this at midnight!?" Then as I'm sitting on the couch sorting and laying things out he says "Well, I can see you are actually enjoying yourself so that makes it better." Lol! Today I have to do my laundry for the week... Not as fun :-(
I usually like the washing, drying, and folding part of laundry. It's the putting it away part that I hate! Maybe if we had larger closets it wouldnt be so bad but ugh I hate it!
I still don't mind doing my sons laundry...and he's 2.5. I loathe putting laundry away though.
Word of advice for the FTMs going hog wild washing baby clothes...only wash what you KNOW you'll use. Babies grow so fast, you may not have time to use all the cute clothes when they are itty bitty. Plus, you'll learn quickly which things are practical and what you prefer. If the tags are still on, you have a shot at returning/exchanging the rest and getting something you can actually use.
I did 3 loads yesterday and loved organizing baby's closet and normally hate laundry. But wow was I shocked by the amount of those little plastic price tag and set connectors. What a pain!

I didn't wash any of that stuff the first time around. I thought the same way you did, it will get dirty soon enough. This time I did wash everything, but that's because it had been in storage.
I get crazy about washing all things for the baby before she gets here, but at least its getting warm outside so i am hanging clothes out on the line.Except lo things they must go in the dryer.
I can wash and dry (the machines do all of the work anyway!) but I loathe putting clothes away. I hang up as much as I can but DH wants his stuff folded and put away. It annoys me.
Congrats to my GP Sister from another mister Bruinsbabe!!
Already having a kid seems to have taken all the fun out of doing baby laundry. Always so so much little stuff to fold/out away since I can fit so much more stuff in those loads.

After that I'm sure I'll go back to hating it....

And that's not a brag, don't worry there's plenty he doesn't do.
