Updated Upsetting 1st tri screening results

I had my NT scan on Tuesday and it was good- normal measurements, baby was moving and shaking. Got the call yesterday that our Down syndrome risk is 1/22. Needless to say I've been pretty upset. I know the "odds are in our favor" but still. I declined the test twice to my doctor but then changed my mind last minute. I can't help but wonder if there was a "reason". I know, I'm over thinking it. Going to take the materniti21 test Monday. Any positive vibes are appreciated. Thanks for listening....

UPDATE
Just got the call. Everything is NORMAL. I have never been so happy and relieved in my entire life. What a excruciatingly nervous 10 days it has been. My PAPP-A is still low, so that might require some monitoring down the road, but I will take it. I am so happy right now. I also stayed strong and declined when asked if I wanted to know the sex, here we go team green! Thank you all for your thoughts, I felt them.

I tell this to everyone who has upsetting screening results. With my DS my risk for Down Syndrome was quite high...1/56 I think. It was high. I did the 2nd part of the test and my numbers only got slightly better. Amnio was being pushed but my h and I were adamant no Amnio. Dr was not happy with me, but we felt that it wouldn't do anything for us. We held out till the 20 week anatomy scan. It was a long wait. 20 week scan showed absolutely NO soft markers. Doctor still encouraged us to do Amnio but we declined. At 35 weeks....my perfectly healthy DS arrived. Other than being 5 weeks early and needing NICU for O2 for a few days, he was FINE and continues to be today. Do not let the scan results get you down. Maternit21 will give you definite results, we didn't have that luxury 2 years ago. I did opt to go that route this time, rather than have that prolonged agony from week 13 to week 20. Hang in and keep us posted on your results.
