How are you all handling the smell super power?!
This is my first pregnancy and I had heard about this symptom but I didn't expect it to be so intense. The day before I got my BFP, I had an appointment to color my hair. The smell of the hair color was so overpowering to me. Then there's a drawer in our kitchen where there is a jar of truffle salt. I can smell it anytime that drawer is opened. Even if I'm not in that room...I've checked time and again and there's no spillage in the drawer. I even put the jar in a ziplock bag!
I wonder if at some point this super skill will come in handy. Or is it just an annoyance?
Re: Super smell
The coolest was when I was about 8 weeks, I went for a hike and wild roses where blooming everywhere. It was so vivid!
I seem to be sensitive to some smells normally. I can't go near Bath & Body Works or similar places because it's just overpowering.
I haven't noticed it with mundane things yet, but it normally hits me later in the pregnancy. With #2, I couldn't cook ground beef because the smell turned my stomach. Definitely more annoyance than superpower.
