I'm lactose intolerant, so I can't eat much more than a string cheese without getting sick. Soy products don't really agree with me either. I'm approximately 6-7 weeks along and I'm wondering if I should take calcium since I don't get it regularly?
Check with your OB to see if you need more than what your prenatal vitamin supplements. Do you eat any other calcium-rich foods to help supplement since you can't have dairy? Leafy greens? Nuts and seeds? Fortified foods?

I avoid dairy, but eat several servings of greens plus at least 12oz of nuts and seeds daily. My doctor says supplementing isn't necessary with my diet.
Do you have trouble with just cow products or all dairy? I started buy sheeps milk and making my own cheese, it's incredibly easy. It doesn't bother me the way cow products do.
I have the same question! My daughter has food allergies so we don't keep dairy in the house now. I have 1 drawer in the fridge with dairy things now that I take to work but would like to know a good supplement as well
