Tip for LOs who drop binkies

My neighbor is a NICU nurse and she recommended Wubbnubs.

It is like a beanie baby with a bunkie attached. LO can hold it and eventually it is easier for them to put it back in if it falls out.

Also, since it is bigger than a line bunkie it is easier to find when it falls out.

My neighbor also have me the genius tip of tucking it into LOs swaddle so they can't spit it out, see PIP.

I got these from amazon for $10.

Cons: the bunkie is sewn to the animal so it makes it harder to clean. You could easily cut it off and with two stitches out a new one on (especially if LO prefers a different binkie).

  • I just bought a wubanub yesterday. Dd already holds the paci in most the time. I mostly bought it because it'll give her something later on for comfort if she needs it once we are done with paci. Also hoping I can find it easier at night (they need to make glow in the dark pacis!).

I've also done the paci in the swaddle and if usually at least gets her asleep and then she spits it out
  • You can also tuck it into a shirt or jacket during the day.

Also car seat straps and the swing seat belt.

@LaurenAsh23 I totally told DH we need to make and sell glow in the dark binkies the first night we were home with Lo!!

  • A mom with twins had those in a mom group I went to when DS1 was born. I thought they were ingenious. I was waiting to see if my LO's would take pacifiers before getting them but I'm hoping to pick one up today.

  • We got them a little while ago (froggy and giraffe) and love them! I figure they'll also be harder to lose than a regular soother! I might be getting a second set since they have to be air dried if you need to wash the whole thing…

  • FYI! They do make glow in the dark paci's. I forget which brand but DS' had a ton of them. Best. Invention. Ever.

I believe MAM but maybe others too. I wish Soothies did!

  • Surprisingly these never worked with DS. The damn paci would still fall out of his mouth all the time!

  • My daughter had a wubanub! She loved that thing. And I never washed her pacis . . . Now I'm all paranoid with this one. Even bought antibacterial hand wash for the first time in my life. I'm cah-razy
  • My pedi. Said the wubanub can go in the washing machine.

  • There are two other brands that make these that you can disconnect to wash. Let me search it and post.

  • Ok one of the brands is "first friends". When I get a chance I'll see if I can find the other one. We have the first friends one downstairs - I like that it uses the soothie paci but you can basically attach any kind.

  • We got this exact one as a gift and haven't really used it. The one time we gave it to him he "snuggled" with it PIP. We weren't really sure what the point in it was but will use it more now that it's been recommended/know how to use it :)
