Baby wearing question

So I can't find this anywhere, if it's been asked sorry in advance.

How do you gals wear LO in public in this cold weather? Up here in Michigan they're calling for cooler temps again next week. Do I just wrap a blanket around her and the carrier? I'd love to wear her while grocery shopping with DD1, but I don't know if I'm comfortable enough walking from the car to the store with just a long sleeve shirt on her...

I'm totally over thinking this aren't I?

I put her in the Moby while I'm standing next to the car, then I throw a warm blanket over both of us until I get into the store. It keeps her cozy

Mind you, it's not terribly cold in my part of the US, but I wear the moby and then zip my coat (or H's) up around her.

I got this as a gift (could never justify buying it myself), and it's actually pretty amazing if you do a lot of babywearing outside in cooler temps. I used it shopping the outlets in 40-degree weather (heat wave!), and it worked great. Baby in Ergo, vest on both of us, hat on baby, and good to go. I still wear DS1 on my back, so I'll get years out of it and then resell it.

When it is really cold, I bring her into the store in the car seat and wrap once we are inside, then DH ran the seat back or I piled groceries on the seat.
Otherwise I put her in the wrap in her sleeper, (prewrapped at home, tighten once inside the store) and wrap my coat around us and cover her with a big blanket. And speed walk to the door:)

I have the vest, but usually I just pop baby into the wrap, draw my coat around us, and walk quickly.

@TyrannosaurusLex‌ @Bookshelves‌ I have been walking with LO in the MT cold for a couple weeks. I wear a lighter shirt and the moby, then put my coat over both of us. My body heat keeps everyone warm. I usually put a hat on LO, but no "extra" clothes. He is so warm that his fingers are still warm after 30 minutes of walking in 32F weather. On a breezy day I put a receiving blanket outside the moby under my coat to make sure the wind was completely blocked. My sanity needed a walk!

I do the same in a ktan, but LO gets sweaty. I figure being over warm in below freezing weather is better then cold. A men's Carhart jacket works perfectly around both my carriers. Something about how it's cut, gives more room in the chest area for LO. I constantly check on her too, because I freak out about over heating her too.
