Babysitting question

DS doesn't really have regular babysitters because we're too cheap/poor to use them a lot. He's had 2 ever that weren't my parents or the inlaws-both teen girls that DH tutors. One just babysat him Tuesday for that stupid fundraiser thing we had to go to. The other hasn't babysat him for over a year and DH doesn't even tutor her anymore. FIL just called and wants to take the family out to dinner for MIL and SIL's birthdays tomorrow.

I feel like either of those 2 girls will be too nice to say no, but not really want to do it on a Saturday with such short notice, especially since one just spent all night with him Tuesday. It seems rude to ask 24 hours out. Am I overthinking this? I wish they had maybe planned this earlier....

Re: Babysitting question

  • Pretty sure a lot of babysitting jobs are scheduled within 24-48 hours (IME babysitting). I say call them up!

  • Yep, you're overthinking it way too much. Either they'll be willing and accept, or declineif they cant. I've definitely asked sitters if they're available at last minute. Even they weren't able to sit for us, I still had no problem asking.
