My son keeps going to bed later and later, which is stressing me out because I feel like I'm not getting enough sleep as I have to do a lot of housework after he goes to bed. He's been falling asleep at about 10:30 lately. He has always been a night owl and could probably stay up to midnight if I let him. I used to get him asleep around 9:30 or so and he would wake up arond 7:30. Well around daylight savings he started staying up later. It would take me an hour to get him to sleep. I try getting him to sleep around 9:30, but the whole process was taking like an hour. I try to read to him and rock him to get him to relax, but he crawls out of my lap and tries to leave the room. Finally after doing this a few times, I put him in the crib and lay on the floor next to his crib because he cries if I leave and I don't believe in any sort of crying it out. Well sometimes he starts playing in the crib, standing up, trying to climb out, etc. so I finally decided to put him to bed at 10 pm because he would actually fall asleep quicker and I wouldn't spend an hour trying to get him to sleep. This seems to work a bit better, but I still would like him asleep closer to 9 than 10:30. He naps 1-2 hours a day at his grandmas in the early afternoon. I would like to limit his naps to 1 hr, but I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do as he might need this sleep. He shows no signs of being tired at all until 10 pm. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
