Cloth Diapering

FTM Intro

Hello!

I figured that I should go ahead and introduce myself - I've commented here and there, so I might as well make it official. DH and I are expecting our first LO in early September (due date is the 4th) and we have decided to cloth diaper. It's been interesting explaining this decision to family/friends in regards to registries, etc. We've seen reactions ranging from super excited to "that's gonna be a lot of work" with a disapproving head shake...

Anyways, we got the first three diapers for our stash in the mail this week (I was way more excited about diapers than DH was lol). I'm thinking that the pockets are the way to go for our family, maybe a couple of AIO too.

I look forward to getting to know and learning from all of you!

Re: FTM Intro

  • Thanks! I've recognized a couple of the names from the Sept. 2014 board. :D

I got three of the FuzziBunz One Size Elite diapers from the FuzziBunz seconds sale last week. I was pretty happy since they were almost half off and they look perfect to me. We won't find out if LO is a boy or girl until April 8th, so I thought that these could be considered "gender neutral" colors. I love the swirl pattern!

The tricky part is that my dogs (Great Danes) think that the diapers are stuffed toys...so I'll have to work with them on leaving the diapers alone. It doesn't help that DH made the diaper dance around on the table while making some weird high pitch noise. Lol.

  • Congrats and welcome.  My dogs have paid zero interest in cloth diapers, clean or dirty, however, they will tear up a dirty sposie.  Eww.  Hopefully your dogs get used to having fluff around quickly.

  • Thanks! I think they'll get used to them. I plan on working with them around all of the new baby stuff as we get it - I did dog training professionally for just over a year and they were my "demo dogs" for classes; they'll catch on quick.
