2 year molars and sleep

Anyone's LO working on their 2 year molars?  Or have they popped through yet?  How did it affect their sleep?  I know...every baby/toddler is different.  We have just had such a long break from teething.  I tried to feel in his mouth, but it doesn't feel swollen back there and I don't feel anything cutting through.

DS has been waking up earlier and earlier in the morning.  He was sleeping consistently from 7pm to 6:40-7am.  This morning he was up at 5:20....would not go back to sleep.  Last night he had trouble falling to sleep, woke up at 9 and I heard him at 1:50am too.

Sleep regression?  teething?  Just a phase??  Ugh.

Re: 2 year molars and sleep

  • I need to check to see if Jeffrey's are coming in! He is usually an awesome sleeper but for the past week and a half, has had trouble going to bed and wakes up a couple of times and doesn't want to go back to his crib when we check on him. He is getting over a cold so we were attributing it to that but maybe it is teething too!

Hope it gets better for y'all!

  • We just had our first molar pop through yesterday! So 2nd year molars will probably not be happening for a LONG time over here. He seems to being doing fine with it, I honestly didn't even know he was getting them until we were playing yesterday and saw it half through.

  • We've been going through something also. I've been noticing that naps are shorter and when he's sleeping at night, he fusses in his sleep. He has also been waking earlier. I didn't know if it was a growth spurt, teething, or a developmental phase. Good to know that I am not the only one. He has also been a little more fussy and whining more.

  • we are having some kind of crazy sleep issue, too, that's been going on for a couple of weeks. DS had a really bad cold with wheezing, so at first i thought it was that, but now he's recovered but is still waking up several times in the 2nd half of the night/early morning. i let him nurse, and then he has an absolute flailing tantrum when i try to cut him off to go back to sleep. ugh. DS has also been chewing on his hands a lot, which he usually does when he has a tooth coming in, but i can't really see far enough into his mouth to tell for sure.
