Success after IF

Oooh baby milestones...

G is in standing mode 24/7. I have laid her back down 4x so far during this morning's nap. And she's only been in there 10 minutes… She's currently standing, holding onto the railing of her crib and wailing away. Heading upstairs for lay-down #5. This is going to be a longggg day. If only it weren't for my FET I'd have a glass of Chardonnay in hand instead of decaf coffee. Yes, at 9:20am. Don't judge.

What milestone is driving you crazy at the moment?

Re: Oooh baby milestones...

  • Oh what a fun stage!  Hopefully it passes soon and the decaf coffee is for the best reason ever.  (Have you found a decent decaf?  All the ones I have tried taste awful!)

E has just discovered that she can open doors.  So now most of the evening consists of her rummaging through the pantry and bringing us snack after snack asking for help opening it.  You know, while we're trying to cook her dinner.  Also, we have to keep all doors to the outside locked, because that child would LIVE outside if we let her.
TTC with PCOS since November 2009
    IUI#1 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 3-7) = BFP, m/c
    IUI#2 Femara/Ovidrel (cd 5-9) = BFN

    beta #2 11/28 = 2055
Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!

  • Mine is LO only wants to stand and not sit. Makes moving around the house very long as we want to walk everywhere but cannot do unassisted. Also we only want to eat if he feeds himself, if I try he throws a little tantrum. I love that he is growing up but it does test my patience or lack there of some days.

    Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p

  • LO started crawling yesterday, it's so new he hasn't figured out how to crawl on demand yet. He has a fiery little temper and will rock back and forth and get mad when he can't figure out how he crawled before. I'm so excited he is crawling but right now power cords are his favorite no matter how many times I deter him he goes back. It's definitely testing my patience too.

  • @TJ1979 - Dunkin Donuts is the only one I can stand. Unfortunately I love to sweeten with Splenda (I know, it's poison… but it's also delicious) so I have yet to find a pregnancy-friendly sweetener that is as good. It was tough when I was pregnant with G, but I'm determined to find something delicious during FET season (that's how I'm referring to my spring). :)

  • Baby I just learned how to roll from back to tummy and was trying to scoot forward yesterday. For some reason it makes me so much more emotional the second time around. I guess because it's so much more final since we are two and done. My little baby is getting bigger. :(

  • @pennylane26, does G know how to sit back down?  When M first started pulling to stand, I quickly taught him how to sit down (basically controlled fall on his butt).  Once he knows how to sit, I stopped going into his room to lie him back down when he was supposed to be napping.  He thought it was fun to stand up b/c I would then show up to lay him down.  When I stopped going in, he eventually got bored and sat back down and went to sleep after 10-15 minutes.

M is now obsessed with walking up/down stairs.  He obviously needs help, but he can walk up and walk down if I hold his hands.  When we are out anywhere with stairs, that is all he wants to do and nothing else.

  • Can I count physical aggression as a milestone? DS1 has started beating up DS2. He is so full of love and hugs, but when he is mad, he bites, hits, or pushes his little brother. DS2 had little scratches all over the back of his neck from DS1 grabbing him by the collar. Needless to say, understanding time out has become a big goal in this house. It's just so hard to split my attention between one sobbing toddler and one who needs to be redirected.

DS2 is working on becoming so independent. He wants to do everything, but gets so frustrated. I'm so proud of him for working so hard, but we do have a lot conversations about the importance of asking for help.

And, I agree with PB. Have you tried showing G how to sit down. DS2 just needed me to show him a couple of times, but took about a week and a half for DS1 to learn. He's get so frustrated during naps, but once he practiced enough with me, it was all good!
