My DH should be hearing back about a job today. He's had 2 interviews and we're really hoping for good news. He's losing his job 3 weeks before baby is due and he's really struggled to find work, so we have a lot riding on this.
They're moving the office that he works at to over 2 hours a way, so he won't even be able to commute. We're really pissed off at the timing, but that's employers for you. They don't care about the individuals they put out, as long as the new office is based closer to their new MD's house.
Anyway, he was told he'd hear by the end of the week, so hopefully in a few hours we'll know either way. I'm so stressed out about it though. If he doesn't get it then i'll probably burst into tears. He's really good at what he does (marketing), but we all know how hard it is to get work in this financial climate.
Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for him!

He got the job!!!!!!
Small catch - it's not on as much money as he'd expected and the travel costs are higher, so he'll be bringing home slightly less each month. However, when it's a choice between a job and no job, we're happy for him to take the job.

Yep, there's much more chance for progression with this one. It's a new role "Social Media Manager" with a high end, world wide chain of hotels, so it's a much bigger company and it's definitely more of a career. I'm so happy for him. He's always wanted to work in the City and do something glam and this is his chance. Of course I'd rather he be local, but his commute will be around an hour which I can deal with.
Oh and we get discount on some reeeeally fancy hotels and a few free nights a year!
