Things I don't understand...

This look:

For reals. It's 30 degrees out. So let's expose our whole leg and ass cheeks, but make sure our ankles stay toasty. I live in a northern New England college town and the girls rock this all the time. I'm embarrassed for them. Anyone else have something that they just don't understand??

It's heavy material, too. This is the only dress that my motherhood has in my size.

Spray tanning.  Sorry if anyone here does it.  I just don't understand wanting to spray your body orange.
hahaha! I don't "do it." I did it once. A few days before my wedding. My mom insisted. She said my skin couldn't be the same color as my dress...

In her defense, if not for the spray tan it probably would have been....
This is why I went for the ivory dress.  My skin was bright white, my dress was not.  Problem solved.
This was me.  I'm the whitest of white.  My legs are blinding.  You could tell my dress was ivory, for sure.  lol

I've never done it. I figure if I was meant to be a person who tans it would happen naturally. :P

  • 1. I don't understand how there are so many adults who can't formulate a complete sentence.

    2. I don't understand people who take multiple duckface selfies. (I am seriously resisting the urge to link to a girl's blog that follows me on Instagram. I have never met the girl before, but we have some mutual friends. Her blog is made up of a shit-ton of duckface selfies. Granted, she is four years younger than me-- but still. That makes her 24. Why has no one told her yet that she looks like a damn fool?)

    Things I do understand:

    1. Drag queens are the best.

Dubs, wasn't it the same place where you had yours? I feel like I remember you telling me that!

  • My dress didn't come in ivory, so spray tan for Amelia! :)

Darken the dress or darken the skin!
THIS! I agree with the spray tan.  I didn't do it because who has that kind of time before their wedding, lol?   Also, Ivory makes me look yellow, so my choice was match my dress or look jaundice.  I matched my dress.  I was the only snowman walking down mainstreet in November.

  • I have another.

I do not understand people who have to put others down just to make themselves feel better.  Case in point, this co-worker who has to make the current "communication issues" all my fault, when I've never heard from this person, or even knew she existed, until today.  I can't "communicate" with someone who doesn't communicate with me first.  I'm not Sally Psycho sending random emails to every person on the planet! LOL  Be a grown up, admit when you have made a mistake and GET THE FUCK OVER IT.

Wow. We had ice cream and chick flicks at my bachelorette party... half of them were under 21 though so....
I've never been to a bachelorette party where I actually knew the bride.  In my defense, I've only been to one.

I was invited to both my cousin's bachelorette parties, but I was pregnant and hadn't told anyone yet for the first, and my other cousin married a douchecannoe and I didn't even want to go to the wedding, let alone to celebrate her marrying him.  Not to mention she lived 500 miles away so it would have been too hard to get there.

Edit: I just realized that would be an awesome Never Have I Ever confession, lol! I'm pretty sure that I'd be the only one on that list.

  • 1. I don't get adults who treat their birthdays like a national holiday and are deeply offended if anything else is scheduled on their special day. Come on guise ... Grow the f up. You won't die if you go to work/school on your birthday, I promise. 2. Black stretch pants. Let me clarify ... Black over-stretched pants as bottoms to an outfit. Put them away. We can see your chonies and it isn't cute.

Black is in no matter the season for me. I don't mess with heavy material, though. Light cotton all the way.

I used to work with a person who celebrated a birthday MONTH.  And every day of that month was supposed to be a celebration of her.

  • My birthday is the start of the birthday shit storm over here, and I've been sick over my birthday for like a decade running.  Luckily, this year I wasn't sick-sick, I was pregnant-sick.  As if that were any better.  *sigh*

DH didn't do crap for my birthday.  My mom was supposed to take us out for breakfast and have fun, but we ended up with a crapload of snow and ice that day so my birthday was forgotten in the winter sludge.  DH did wish me happy birthday at 12:01am. :)  He did acknowledge it, and he did let me sleep on the couch that afternoon, but I still had to cook and do the dishes.  He did eventually get me a birthday present too (a new radio for my van) but that didn't happen until March.  So I guess I really didn't have anything to complain about this year.

I would like my birthday to come and be acknowledged.  I would like to have a birthday cake-- something that hasn't happened since before C was born.   I would like to have a birthday present ON my birthday, even if its flowers, or something little.  I try to do all those things for DH and his birthday is 9 days after mine.

  • I'm just ornery today! I have another one.

I do not understand where strangers, or practically strangers (distant relatives) think its okay to tell you whether you should/should not have _____________ (insert life event of choice).  For instance, I just had a distant cousin, one who I haven't seen or spoken too since I think 2011, tell me that I shouldn't have an epidural for delivery because "it's bad."

    Um, sure.

  • @Irtrauth - another reason why ILY.

Black is the new black. And the old black. And all the other colors. Just wear black.

  • I don't understand why I can't make myself go to bed early anymore. When I first started working I was going to bed at 9:30-ish most nights, and felt pretty decent in the mornings. Now I have to fight myself (like a little kid) to get in bed before midnight. WTF, man. I'm tired! What is my deal?

i do not understand this either. why would i want to wear this when it's 90 degrees with 80% humidity??? newsflash, retailers: summer is hot, and pregnant women carrying 25 extra pounds tend to overheat. let's see some light colors and airy fabrics!

I don't understand why the eff my kid hates sleep so much. Like, whyyyyyyy!!!!!! Sleep is so grand, baby boy!
I have just the opposite problem!  I have split custody of my LO so I get really excited when I get to spend time with her (not to say that parents with full custody don't get excited!).  So when she falls asleep 1.5 hours after I get out of work I secretly wish she would stay up longer to play!

Hangs head in shame...I would totally spray tan all the time...if I could afford it. I did it once for a wedding and it came out so natural I was in love. I also watch reality TV...like the competition shows though, do they count? I wear Uggs but usually not without pants unless I am letting the dogs out and in anticipation of any upcoming post...I also wear leggings as pants, especially now that im pregnant and they are all that fit. Can i still stay?

Yes! I haven't done a spray tan but before I got pg for a couple summers I did the tanning beds. So so bad for you. But tanner = automatically look skinnier. I want to try the spray tan this summer. I bought Uggs to get through being hugely pregnant in the winter. Comfy! I love leggings! I do like my shirts to be long enough to cover my butt though.

I don't understand why bikinis were ever invented. They can FOAD. Even when I looked good in them, I never felt like I did and always felt super self conscious. It's like walking around in your skivvies. Why is that okay if it's "swimwear"?

  • On the birthday topic, I just turned 31 February 27th. This year I got to spend it helping my dad move into his new house. He had been staying with me for 5 months while a house was being built and I was so excited to get him out of my house, I took the day off and helped him move. Not the most fun exciting birthday ever but at least I got rid of my dad living with me.

Last year on my birthday, it was my big 3-OH and I had just had Everett. We went out to dinner and that was it. I have always felt a little dissapointed on my birthday because I go WAY out of my way for my husband, kids and father to make sure they feel special but somehow we really never do anything for mine.

Although, as the years pass, I care less and less that no one really does anything special so I guess that's a sign of getting old.

  • I wear leggings as pants all of the time but they have to be thick enough. i don't want to bare all. i just wanna be comfy. Usually I pair leggings with an oversized sweater, but I have also paired them with a nursing tank bc I layered and had to peel the layers as the day got warmer. It happens.

PS This is my FFFC in the wrong thread. I see that now.

I just laughed out loud. I wear leggings as pants, too. I don't see the issue ;)

Leggings as pants = yes. Tights as pants = no.
