11 month olds

I know the first year babies get their main nutrition from BM, but I still have some questions...

I'm currently BF every 2-3 hrs and would like to start weaning him off at a year old (6 more weeks)

How often does an 11 month old need to BF if he's having 3 meals a day with snacks in between on some days?

Does BM still satisfy hunger at this age or is it just for nutrients?

    I was down to morning and night then. I was giving him formula in a sippy at lunch though. Oh and his night nursing never ever got efficient for the whole year I nursed him. So when I say I nursed him at night.. I mean he was latched on for about an hour or more every night.
    We did give him water or watered down juice whenever he wanted in between.
    He nursed for the last time about a week after his first birthday. That was pretty much my goal. If you are wanting to nurse longer than that you may want to cut sessions more slowly.
    Sorry I don't really know the answers to your questions but wanted to give you my experience.

    I'd go with following baby's lead. At age 1, some kids are still primarily getting their nutrition from BM, while others are mostly getting their nutrition from solid foods. Listen to your baby.

    DS eats a LOT of food though which is why I'm confused as to how much BM he actually needs. He eats tons of fruits, veggies, protein and fiber plus some water. I'm hoping to switch him over to cows milk. I'm just done with BF.

    My LO is almost 10 months and eats 3 to 4 solids meals a day, about 8 oz of breastmilk at daycare and nurses morning, night and sometimes overnight once. Her doc said this is normal for this age. She naturally dropped the 3rd daycare bottle on her own. Just follow her lead. After a year, they recommend 3 servings of dairy per day.
